Itamea sushi — Restaurant in Montreal

Its maybe a fluke or a bad timing , I will have to try again, but it was the worse Tempura ive experience in Sushi. It wasnt crunchy , it felt "shewy" and fad, it woukdnt be tgat kuch of an issue if it didnt make 80% of everything oredered to "Crumble" and not stay in the Maki/Futo maki. Every pieces i took , the tempura just fell off and the sushi "crumbled" from its shape. I am a big suhshi lover and i also makes some myself. I would have never used such a bad quality tempura, it was not good, not well done and felt like "Fried rice" more than anything. The Soya sauce pot was full of it, after only 4 pieces i dipped in , the Plate was full of it, My floor and table was dirty with Tempura falling from every Pieces. There is golden standart to respect. Rice , Tempura and fresh fish/ ingredient. If one is not respected the whole experince is bad. Everything was good beside the awfull tempura, for. 70$ meal I expect more, way more. I oreder suahi 2-5 times a month. This was the worse order int he last year.

I will try again soon, maybe it was just this Time. Still, the chef should be ashamed to have used out...

I orded sushi last night hopping to enjoy the wait i gave to savor the taste. I stated with the ginger to open my appetite. As i was chowing, i realized that the ginger did not taste like ginger. It was sour and bitter. I spate it out right away. When i started to eat the sushi it did not taste fresh at all . I was so disappointed by my choice. I payed 30$ to have it delivered to me plus an extra was charged for sesame sauce...wow to have received a meal that was not even eatable. To top it off , when i ordered they said that it would take about 45min or lease. I said ok since i had a craving for sushi. I live about 3 min drive to this place and after hanging up they were at my door in lease then 10min. I found that a bit odd because i ordered 28 peaces. I am convinced that they knew what they were giving me and still decide to deliver it to me. IT WAS CERTAINLY NOT MADE FRESH. I will never order from ITAMEA SUSHI again and i hope that you choose the same as well. I am not one to comment at all but this could not...

I recently dined at Itamea Sushi, and it was hands down one of the best sushi experiences I’ve had! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was welcoming—modern yet cozy, with a touch of traditional Japanese elegance.

The fish was incredibly fresh, and each piece of nigiri melted in my mouth. I highly recommend the chef’s omakase selection—it was a perfect balance of flavors, with highlights like the buttery toro and perfectly seared salmon. The spicy tuna roll was also a standout, with just the right amount of heat.

Service was impeccable; the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food. They even took the time to explain each dish, which made the meal even more enjoyable.

If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality sushi with excellent service, Itamea Sushi is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning soon!
