Juanitos — Restaurant in Montreal

Cool summer evening decided to try this brand new Colombian spot in St Henri why.

The inside is pretty minimalist, not a lot of room for sitting no mostly a take out spot I guess. Also on a fairly cool evening it is very warm inside so take out reason number 2, but in fairness to them they do have several fans.

Staff was very friendly, answered all my questions cause there are no descriptions (which would be helpful). Decided to grab the last two empanadas they had and the Patacon Pisao which was 3s flattened fried platains as the covered with your choice of different options. I went with chicken.

On the whole I thought one empanada was pretty good, one was pretty bland I thought but the accompanying sauce (which they do give you several options for) was flavorful and spicy. They aren't huge but are pretty dense but for $4.25 a piece its borderline. They do ofter specials if bough in larger amounts in fairness.

The Patacon Pisao I did like a lot. Its dressed with the meat and a guac/fresh avocada based sauce. Would definitely get it again or try other variants with other meats and price was pretty reasonable at $9.

Overall service and experience was good, prices are basically what the new norm is so not low but not unreasonable either. A nice addition to St Henri

Tasty empanadas and great service — a cozy spot for a quick bite

The place is very cozy and welcoming, and the empanadas are truly delicious — the chicken, mushroom, and cheese one was our favorite! The owner is very kind and provides excellent service, making you feel right at home.

There are only a few tables available, so it might be a bit tricky if you're coming in a group of more than 4 people. It's better suited for smaller gatherings or a quick visit.

One thing to improve would be the air conditioning — it was quite hot during our summer visit, although we were told it was under repair at the time.

Still, it’s a great spot to satisfy your cravings for empanadas and grab a cold Pony Malta. Definitely...

We celebrated my friend’s 30th birthday in their new party room, and it couldn’t have gone better. The whole team was incredibly kind and accommodating. They really made us feel welcome and went out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly. The atmosphere was cozy, fun, and just perfect for a celebration. The food was so good! Everyone loved the empanadas and bowls!! It was great to see how easy it was for guests with gluten or lactose intolerances to find delicious options. I Highly recommend Juanitos, whether for a special event or just a nice night out. The new party room was such a great find for our group and made the evening feel extra special! 🎉...
