We made reservations for 4 adults and 2 kids, to celebrate twins 13th birthday. Their request, as they wanted to enjoy dinner and watch the basketball game on the big screen. We arrived and were seated at a nice large table with 6 bar stool chairs. We ordered drinks and were served such and then ordered appetizers and main dishes. About 15-20 min later, we were informed that we had to change tables, as "this is a bar and our kids were under age." We were told by 2-3 different girls, that we'd have to move and were being put into a small u shaped corner booth, about 15 ft away. The girls said to not take our empty plates. Clearly not my job to move empty serving plates. We 6 squeezed into the booth they had prepared for us, but with only 5 serving utensils. Within minutes, all our appetizers and main dishes were brought by at least 3 ppl. We were overwhelmed with about 9 dishes on a small table surface all at once, with no help in making space, just plates hurriedly pushed in our direction. The food was average. My grandson who ordered pizza, had about 4 pieces leftover which he wanted to take home so we asked for a box. A small 3 inch square (like for french fries) was given and I said, "you want him to put all his pieces into that small box?" The waitress said , she had nothing larger, so she would bring a couple more boxes. Nice, smashing and folding pieces of pizza, on top of one another, to fit. Hard closing the top. My other grandson needed a box for his left over meat and fries and my son needed a box for his leftover salad. We left with 3 jammed, 3 inch boxes. We asked for coffee, but it was brought COLD. We returned it to the waitress and yet, she soon brought the bill charging for the cold coffee. We told her and she said she would redo the bill without coffee. Our tip reflected the very poor service, and the lack of making our family feel welcomed. We mentioned 2-3 times that we were there to celebrate special birthdays, yet the whole situation felt more like a disaster. When approached by the waitress and the young female "manager" as to why the poor tip, we explained that, if kids under the drinking age are not welcomed to dine in their restaurant, why take a reservation for a family party? We were seated by the employee. Why have kids meals on the menu, if kids are not made to feel welcomed? What is the difference between two tables when they are literally 15 ft away from one another? Why bring appetizers and main dishes at the same time? It just felt like they wanted to get us in and out as quickly as possible. I told them that we would never come back. There are many good restaurants in the area, and prefer to go somewhere where we are treated with respect, kindness and professionalism. We were extremely disappointed by this experience and upset that what could have been very fun happy celebration, turned into such a miserable experience. This is NOT a family...
Read moreHi. Usually I like to come to your bar and watch the game or UFC. Love your burgers too. But last night I witnessed an unpleasant incident when one of the supervisors yelled at a server or a buss girl. He is skinny tall gentlemen with a short black hair. He was very rude to her and showing her with a point finger which way to go and which table to clean, in front of other staff and more importantly all the guests. Very insensible and homophobic behavior by a supervisor in 2019. She was probably slacking and hiding in the back, and as a young employee she probably doesn't have a high work ethic. But, regardless of the quality of the staff, having a manager with a body language of a dictator makes me believe that he is an egoist who doesn't care about his staff feelings. If the person mistreat its staff, who are supposed to provide customer service, he definitely doesn't care for its clients neither, regardless of the fake smile je might offer once in a blue moon. You had a great lady manager last year, who was pleasant to everyone in public, that I haven't seen in last few months in your bar. I don't mind the change in staff but I definitely don't want to eat and drink in a place where a manager or a supervisor treats his staff inhumanely, and support that kind of behavior. I am horribly sorry that I have to write this kind of review but it's because I really liked going to your place. To me last night's Cage looked like a prison where a guard is ordering prisoners what to do. Very sad atmosphere compared to the one during FIFA world cup or Khabib vs. McGregor fight night. There are no more...
Read moreIf you read all my reviews I donât typically give bad reviews. But I guess thereâs a first time for everything. While visiting Montreal we decided to go to the sports bar near our hotel called La Cage. We wanted to eat some food and dessert as the menu looked awesome. We arrived at 915 pm and were greeted and seated. The place was full and loud as game 6 of the NBA finals was on. Good sign right? Wrong! We sat at our table while our waitress passed us over multiple times to attend to others that were there. She finally came about 20 min after we sat down. We ordered two, she then left and didnât return for another 20 minutes. When she finally came back we told her we were ready to order only to find out the kitchen was closed!!!! What? Closed? What kind of sports bar and dining restaurant closes their kitchen at 10pm during the nba finals??? Absolutely ridiculous. We then ordered another drink as I sat there and fumed because we were hungry. When the drinks finally came I didnât even have it, paid and asked out of curiosity what time the kitchen closes every day? AnswerâŠ.she said it dependsâŠâŠwhat???? Anyways Was forced to go to McDonaldâs for a kitkat McFlurry I feel bad writing this as Iâm sure others had a great time as the food looked great.
Maybe next time have a sign up or something letting patrons know. Especially when youâre this close to a...
