Terrible Experience
I have never experienced a restaurant experience as bad as this one, and it was only for a takeout. I came to Souvlaki Bar for a takeout order. Before I ordered, I asked the manager (Peter) if the food can be made gluten free since my husband has celiac disease and I'd like to share a plate with him. Without any confirmation with the chefs, the manager said yes right away. So I ordered a chicken gyro pita plate asking for the pita sandwich to be deconstructed so that pita (contains gluten) can be separated from the rest of the ingredients that are gluten-free. Peter helped entering the order knowing that the plate needs to be done gluten-free.
However, when I got home and opened the takeout container, I saw the pita sitting right on top of the rest of the food, not to mention that they forgot to give me rice and potato. Unhappy with a box of chicken and tomato contaminated by the gluten from the pita, I called back to the restaurant and asked to speak to Peter. Peter was very rude over the phone, did not apologize for his mistake, refused to give a refund, and asked me to drive all the way back to get a new plate. I drove back to the restaurant. This time Peter made sure to separate the pita from the rest of the gluten free ingredients into different boxes. However, extremely rude as he is, he kept trying to walk away as I tried to tell him how unacceptable it was for him to claim that he can make his food gluten-free but did not. Had he said he can't make it gluten-free, I would not have ordered the dish. He even blamed me for being the one at fault for ordering a pita dish and asking for the rest of the plate other than the pita to be gluten free (which he managed to do it after all lol). I ended up never getting any apology from the manager and even got blamed for being the one at fault for ordering a plate that was told by the manager himself that could be made gluten-free, but was not. The hostess ended up apologizing on behalf of the manager!!?? Way to run a restaurant!
The food tasted blend and the rice was hard (slightly undercooked). At least the chicken gyro was alright and the hostess was really nice. But would not recommend...
Read moreCame in the other day with colleagues of mine for a goodbye party and sadly my experience wasn't up to par. At the start we had a nice woman ask if we wanted anything to drink yet (only two of us had arrived at the time) my colleague took something but I didn't (I hadn't really looked at the options yet). She brought us both glasses of water .Maybe 30 minutes/ An hour later , everyone arrived and another male server came to ask one of my colleague if she wanted something to drink (mind you she's in front of me) , I also wanted to order a drink but the man quickly left without asking anyone else if they wanted something.
For the next 30 minutes I proceeded to wait to get a hold of him (he was busy serving other tables so I understand). He even went to serve other of my colleagues for drinks, but I felt completely ignored. So I ended up raising my hand to get his attention and then he came and I ordered a drink, which was delicious btw. But then as this is happening everyone is also waiting for him , or anyone, to come take our orders. After another 30 minutes passes still no one comes so I end up again raising my hand to get someone's attention to tell them we are ready to order food.
Now as a vegetarian, I was saddened to see there wasn't that many interesting options, but I decided to try the gyro plate with pita. Inside was cucumbers, onions, tomatoes and salad + garlic sauce. Sadly it was pretty lacking in taste :/ there are many options of vegetarian proteins existing and none of them were used. The rice was good and the fries too, but yeah the food overall was lackluster, at least for me.
I'd say it wasn't a bad experience, but it definitely wasn't good either. I don't know if maybe in this restaurant you're supposed to get the waiter's attention to get things moving and maybe we were just not used to this, but I would have appreciated a more present...

I edited this review on 5/8/17 to state that the restaurant manager and marketing director both took the steps to contact me, both were very nice, understanding and they were truly concerned about what happened and even offered to make up for it. Mistakes happen. I am glad they took the steps and care about their restaurant! Horrible experience at St Laurent Souvlaki Bar. Had a reservation and were told we had to wait for a table or given the choice to sit at a table in front of patio door with sun in our face. We took that option and the sun was so strong we asked to move. We were told that the only seats available were at the bar. We sat there and basically never saw the waitress again. We were never asked for water refill and we had to ask the bartender several times for water. When we were brought out our food by another waiter he was not told we moved and when WE told him is was our food, he was angry just roughly put the plates down on our table. Then he got upset at the original waitress in front of us. The bartender was also always arguing with other waitresses in front of us. We saw another couple sit at that same table in front of us and then got up and left. I suggest a blind at that door! My wife commented on Facebook and you not only did not respond, but you BLOCKED her from making other comments. Although we were content with the food, We are...
