Wish I could give no star here. 1. I wanted to add rice cakes on a dish for extra cost, the server didn't even check with the kitchen if it's possible, and said "no" right away without thinking or trying to suggest other options. 2. My partner and I sat outside. After we ordered food my partner went inside to go to bathroom, and this server didn't even recognize him who he took the order from just 2 minutes ago and stopped him from entering. And my partner explained he just ordered and was sitting outside, this server CAME OUT TO CHECK if it is true. What a service. With this personality I don't think you can meet customer's needs at all. 3. And you know what, you don't call Omurice by putting a FRIED EGG. Chulpan beef was sadly dry and waaaaaay too salty. I couldn't finish it, and my partner who ate the whole "Omurice" feels sick from TONS of chemicals they used. What a joke. Don't go.

A small unassuming korean resto with affordable menu prices that hits the spot! It really feels like one of those places that is not too polished inside out but be rest assured that the food will talk for itself. Its located near student housing/dorms so make sense its really catering for their budgets. We got a seafood jjigae soft tofu stew to share between two people (if you come with a big appetite, might just be enough for 1 person). The rice bowl size was my only complain. Been to a handful of korean restaurants in montreal and even during my visit in Seoul and they usually come in this silver metal bowl. But for Laon, the rice portion is a little bit too small. Other than that the stew was comforting and yummy :)

I'm so glad that I randomly found this restaurant! It's not very big, neither flashy as the sign for the restaurant is actually hard to point out from outside (they just opened, so that might change) but it is welcoming and comfy. The food was tasty for a reasonable price! The quantity was good too. I feel like this is a really authentic Korean restaurant since I had to go on google to actually understand what I was ordering since they were mostly Korean dishes with a few Japanese ones. I ordered the Sundubu jjigae which wasn't too spicy and was flavorful. The owner was very polite and cute! She gave us dumplings as a gift! I definitely recommend this place and I absolutely wanna go back !

Good Korean food!

I saw the mixed reviews on Google and still decided to give it a try. Despite the negative reviews from others, their photos actually showed the opposite. The fact that they only have Korean dishes on their menu is another good sign.

Ordered fries chicken, two vegetable kimbap and tofu bibimbab. Taste really good.

Fried chicken The chicken is a bit different from the ones that you will eat in South Korea(usually they serve either half chicken with bones in, drumsticks or chicken wings). The ones in Korea will have some glassy sauce (sometimes melted cheese) on the chicken. The fried chicken here is not served with those glassy sauce, but a side of spicy sauce you usually see in Korean stores. But they are well seasoned and tender. My husband cannot finish the box by himself.

Kimbap I recall buying a roll of kimbap in Korea in aluminium foil without any accompanying sauce. Kimbap is not Japanese nigiri and though some people will dip kimbap in soy sauce, it's not necessary. The rice is cooked perfectly and is well seasoned. It tastes just like those in Seoul.

Tofu Bibimbab I do miss bibimbab in a sizzling hot pot with some crispy rice at the bottom. The Bibimbab here is not that type, but it still tastes good.

When some food is introduced to a foreign country, some adjustments will usually be made. Maybe we are so used to eating the altered version that makes us believe that that is the original flavour, but that's a statement or thought that is faulty. Maybe, after all, it's simply because Korean food is not...

Surprised this restaurant got 4.7. I'd see it more as a 3.5. Nothing was bad per say, hence 3.5, it was OK. I wouldn't go back. Food wasn't at all to the level of other Korean restaurants I've been to. Everything felt like it was missing a little something.

Location is fantastic especially with the outdoor 2nd floor terrace, great for people watching. The service was courteous and quick.

The boneless chicken appetizer was ground chicken fried. Every other Korean restaurant I've been, the boneless chicken was a well seasoned piece of meat, not ground, fried perfectly.

The bibimbap didn't have the cooked fried rice at the bottom which is the best part. It tasted good or fine but it didn't have that.

The appetizer crispy fried tofu was not crispy at all.

All in all I'd say it's just meh. It's not bad, it's not...
