I bought a ticket for the premiere of my friend’s documentary 2 days in advance. On the screening day, I’ve arrived 15 minutes late due to traffic, yet I was thinking that I’m all right because my friend’s film was the last of the three films that were being screened that night.
Nevertheless, the person in charge didn’t let me in saying that “it’s sold out”. I acknowledged that I knew tickets were sold out, however, I had bought my ticket online beforehand. To my surprise she told me that I can't go in "because all the seats are taken”. I said “how come ?! I have paid for my seat and here is my ticket”. She said that because they were so many people who wanted to watch the film, we waited 5 minutes for the ones with tickets who haven’t arrived yet, then we’ve sold the place of the ones who didn’t show up. She used the flight overbooking analogy to explain the situation to me.
I don’t know where in the world they sell a movie ticket to two person ?! If I was told that you can’t go in because the doors of the theater are closed and you will interrupt everyone, I would understand. Nonetheless, I would never accept what just happened to me. I also contacted their support crew by email, yet I’ve received no answer. So I couldn’t be on the premiere of my friend’s film despite the fact that I had a ticket and...
Read moreCinema du Parc is a top art house theatre within downtown Montréal. It is spacious, clean, & well decorated with vintage film posters. Comfy seats. Great staff: kind & professional. Stopped by to watch Mickey 17. Then i heard they've been featuring David Lynch films every weekend so i returned for Wild at Heart, which was sold out on a snowy Friday evening. The crowd was 🔥! Everyone was thrilled to make it to a Lynch classic feature. I liked how before the film started, 2 staff members gave an intro & there was a free t-shirt contest for the 1st person to scream Lula! There was laughter throughout the movie. At the end, the audience gave a round of applause & cheered with contentment. Highly recommend visiting. Support indie...
Read moreWE WOULD HAVE DIED!!💀 INSANE!!!😰😶 I went with my friend who is a wheelchair user. The fire alarm went off and the build was evacuated. We were left alone in the lobby of the cinema due to the fact that the wheelchair+staff elevator shut down and we had no other way to exit.
We were left alone for over an hour unsure what was going on, and no way to escape. Which is insane!!!! Thank goodness, apparently there was only a small kitchen fire elsewhere in the building, but had there been a real emergency, we would have been stranded with no way to escape, and surely would have died
I contacted the building management and still have yet to hear back. I'm still in shock at the entire situation and how it was...
