One of my favourite places in the mile end. The food is amazing and the vibe is so unique.
The burger is delicious. The bun, the meat, the cheese, everything about it was different and tasted so well together. I highly recommend paying the additional 1.50$ for cheese. It made such a difference. I hate when you can't taste the cheese in a cheeseburger.
Service is fast and efficient, the busboy was fun and helpful. The restaurant just has this aura of hipsterness and coolness. Everything comes together to make the experience different and out there. The place mats, the plates, the utensils, the music, the lights, everything works and is coherent and intensifies the experience.
Also worth mentioning is that their brunch is equally as nice. I got the chicken and waffle. I heard a lot about this from tv shows and never thought it actually existed anywhere near me so it was an awesome surprise. And it was excellent. I love chicken, I love waffles, I love maple syrup, there's no way combining those things together could end badly.
I've also had the lumberjack pancake from their...
Read moreI usually love this place but maybe not again after this experience tonight. I had finished a 12 hour shift came in to order and pick up a burger since I was looking forward to it all day and the establishment opens at 5pm. Barman advised me it would take 5-10 mins max. I ordered a burger with no raw onions. Food kept coming out of the kitchen for other clients after 10 mins and some that ordered had after I did as well. I was patient and waited for over 30 mins. No one staff wise has mentioned an issue in the kitchen. Starving… Managed to get home and the burger meat was very tough not at all the usual moist Nouveau Palais patty I remember and was with raw onions and a white sauce inside nothing else. Taking bites of my burger with the strong onion stench from the onions wasn’t pleasant at all. If it wasn’t for my hunger I wouldn’t have taken more than one bite and chucked it in the bin. Was really disappointed by my experience and after such a long day it...
Read moreOne of our go-to restaurants for burgers and mac and cheese. The decor and ambience inside is cozy. Usually the food is on-point but our order for pickup tonight was really disappointing. It felt like it was made in hurry with no love. The calamari smelt really strong, I don’t think it was fresh, and for $9.50, it wasn’t really an adequate portion (not that I wanted anymore). The burger was fine, though usually it’s fantastic. The Mac and cheese and side of beets and garlic were under-seasoned, and again, lacking in the quality we keep coming back for. Finally, perhaps most disappointing of all, were the fries, that tasted of nothing and were limp and undercooked. For sure it’s been a rough year, especially on restaurants. Late on a Friday night too, probably a long one but I really enjoy this place and want to keep coming back to support it...
