I rarely give 5 stars, I think this may be the first time. The waiter is a perfect example of non-intrusive but so attentive. The restaurant does not serve alcohol, its BYOB. We did not realize this at the time, however, once my dinner companion brought back the wine instantly a bucket with ice was attached to our table, I didn't even see it happen! Now that is service! He was willing to help with the menu but we already had picked our food, one starter (escargot), mains, beef carpaccio and beef Tartar. We couldn't work out which main we enjoyed more. For Montreal, in this heat and humidity, the food was light and enjoyable. I happened to be distracted by my dog, smelt the delicious fries, thinking mmmm food smells good, turned around it was on the table! Guy moves like a ninja. I have to say, if you are looking for large portions then this place is not for you. It's very much bistro French. Coming from Europe, I appreciate this, North American plates are way too large for me, especially in the heat. This is a great place for date nights, good vibes and exceptional service. For all the doggie lovers out there, the dog is allowed in the patio. Additionally, for all you virus phobes like myself, they have a spray bottle of disinfectant in the bathroom, which made me feel good, I basically cleaned everything I was going to touch before and after. Just like the gym, clean up after yourself. This is the first restaurant I have been too since COVID, I loved every minute. Thank you for an experience I will not forget anytime soon. Please support this restaurant with your patronage! 1 starter shared, 2 mains and a dessert $75 and no corkage fees! We ended up drinking two bottles and the wine stores are right by the restaurant.

Overpriced and Mediocre Food, Good Service A am not a fan of writing poor reviews, but I am just glad that we started with the soups and did not order a full meal, so were able to escape…. I guess the tip off should have been that it was 7 pm and the place was virtually empty… while restaurants around it were packed. Generally, in Montreal, one can get a very good French Onion Soup without trying, but here it was really watery, with too much bread and below average taste. The Gazpacho was a disappointment as well, too much tomato and a small cup size on a huge, fancy plate for 10 CAD… Definitely not a gem…. We left and had sandwiches across the street.

Overall, it was good. First the positives: (1) the dark chocolate lava cake and the crème brûlée were fantastic. I would go back for the deserts alone. (2) My tartare and my friends steak were delicious. The french onion soup is also really good. (3) the vibe was pretty good and got busier as we were there. (4) BYOB Negatives: (1) the gazpacho was the worst gazpacho i’ve ever had. (2) my other friends steak was not cooked properly but still tasted good. (3) a little expensive for what you get.

First of all, I would like to mention that our waiter was extremely friendly and understanding. The portions are laughable and wouldn't feed a baby. It's like being forced on a diet. One of our friends was vegetarian and we asked for a vegetarian dish. They proposed a goat cheese salad. We got a salad that had 8 pieces of lettuce, half a tomato, two slices of bread with melted goat cheese, a sprinkle of parmesan and we were charged 29$ for it. Meanwhile, the beef carpaccio with goat cheese, fries and salad was 28$ we got the salad only for 29$. Let that sink in. The French onion soup tasted burnt and bitter. There were bits of dried soup on one side of the cup the soup comes in, as if someone had poured out half of it and not bothered wiping the cup properly. We brought our own wine and were told there is a law that states that we can't drink our own wine unless we buy an appetizer and a main dish, or a main dish and a desert. Never heard of such a thing but sure, it's not like a main dish alone would've satisfied our hunger. The steak was good, the salmon was a typical 200gram portion, fried in butter and laid over 5 or 6 pieces of asparagus. For the deserts: the lava cake is smaller than an egg. The creme brûlée's quantity was so little i couldn't even sink my spoon in the little plate it was served in. When we argued the price of the goat cheese salad, we saw the owner literally chew the ever living hell of the waiter out. Never going back. This restaurant serves pseudo-fine dining cuisine that is sub-par and not worth the time or the money. Kind of stuff you see on Gordon Ramsay's...

Without doubt the worst dining experience I've had in 2024. I made reservations for 8:30pm. We arrived to an empty restaurant. Some staff were sitting at the side and nobody addressed us for several minutes. After some time, the server finally came out and sat us. As soon as we were sat, she told us that the kitchen is closing soon so it would have to be a final order in a manner that made it seem like we were coming in last minute. We made a reservation for 1.5 hours before close, in fact there was another slot for 9:00pm even so this made no sense. It was clear that we were not welcome by the staff. This was very apparent in their demeanour. The cook would intermittently come out and scowl at me for no reason like I was punishing him by being there. Absolutely horrible, unwelcoming service throughout our time there. The food was no redemption at all. French onion soup was watery and not flavourful as others I've had. The chicken dish was so disappointing, I could have made better at some. I complained about the service to our server and she tried using the excuse that they had a problem in the kitchen and it was causing them some issues but I responded to her that this was no excuse for the horrible service we were receiving. They should not be deflecting their stress and unhappiness on...
