I've been doing regular yoga for nearly a year and was curious to see what heat could add to my practice. Innocere has then come across my path as a challenging yet rewarding surprise. In three weeks at Innocere I could: do my very first headstand in a class, sit in lotus position and just noticed my general balance improving drastically. Hot yoga has been medicinal for me. Apart from its undeniable palpable results (better flexibility and alignment and more awareness of my breath in and out of the mat), I walk out of the studio as if Prince Arthur pavement were clouds.
My first and most important reason for joining this studio in particular was: its teachers! One is better than the other and yet every class brings a different dynamic to my practice. Teachers are knowledgeable, attentive, absurdly skillful and able to fill me up with hope with persistent tips (and examples) that show me “Yeah, that asana is possible”. Special thanks to Ally, Sarah, Jessica, Sabrina, Sam, Teisha and Haley!
The studio location is also so privileged that I get to see a giant tree (with leaves just turning into red), a partial sunset or a piece of art in the opposite mural every time I go into a downward dog. The Bixi station located 1 minute away from the studio also makes my life easier.
Finally, besides being beautifully designed inside, the studio has several (super convenient) lockers and showers – which I’ve made it a habit to use after a class because the contrast of the water after the heat is, again, medicinal.
I am grateful for finding Innocere and its teachers, and for the direction my yoga...
Read moreThis yoga studio is awsome, I took the 1 month special entry price membership thinking Yoga was going to help me get more souple, I ended up going every day for the benefits to my mind that these clases brought me, The teachers there are tremendously competent, and of diverse backgroup of Yoga practice, Most of them include their personal touche to make the experience tailored and different each class you go to, Might it be Krystina's Yin yoga with a deep spirituel and mindfull grounded calming energy, Or Firas's symbolism experience intergrating visualisation in the practice making it a transformative experience and great workout, And Jamie's Ashtanga on saturday's bringing discipline and precisenes to an intense and focused practice, Or Haley's sound healing during Shavasana. The place is beautifull and always clean, Mens changing room are equiped with nice practical showers, a necessity after Hot Yoga, The air quality is perfect in the studio, even in the heat it is easy to breath and feel energized with each breaths taken. It is also a great place to meet joyfull open people to connect with over Caffein-Free, sugar free chai-like tea they offer, The place is located near many nice cafés and restaurants on a walk-only street (princ-arthur), which makes it calming and soothing when coming in or coming out of a class. I will be going back there. I guess Yoga is part of my life now. And a special thanks to the teachers awnsering all my questions about the practice before and after class with dedicated, competent, friendly and...
Read moreThe community at Innocere Yoga was kind, welcoming, and quick to gather a new person into the mix. I attended three classes while in town (with Krystina, Sarah, and Faras) and was grateful for how each teacher gave so much to the class. Krystina lead a very powerful Yin class, which is my most preferred styles of yoga. I felt both physically and mentally refreshed and energized after each class. The classes were accessible and beneficial for every level of yoga practice. I also appreciated how the classes were bi-lingual. English is my native language and at the same time, I absolutely enjoyed the class that was majority French. I was able to follow along most of the time, but am pretty sure Sarah switched to English a few times to save me :) Lastly, a final day connection to Faras (studio founder) was a delight. Somehow he knew what I needed to hear in class that morning and helped me get get grounded for my trip home. I gently mentioned a few things to him in passing and was grateful to have an email from him that evening, in which he acknowledged what I had said. A kind thank you to all the folks I encountered at Innocere and hope to see...
