You know when go eat somewhere where it's so damn amazing and you tell yourself they don't need any reviews to justify such... Well here i am at Lucca once again... I honestly rarely take a minute to give a straight opinion on pretty anything and I'll tell you this, i enjoy eating quality everywhere i travel, this spot is in my hometown, If you're a foodie like me, you know Montréal has so much to offer and considered one of the capital gastronomique city's in the world which we all took for granted before the pandemic, we find to realize that when the situation tends to come back to normal, especially the appreciation of manifesting the reality of what we were all spoiled about, and no doubt i can hands down express the fact that Lucca has been and still is one of the most authentic Italian experience offering some of the tastiest Italian dishes from antipasto to primi to secondi and of course their die hard deserts and wide selections of private import wines and grappas, again i repeat myself to express this small, yet, immensely amazing place to enjoy surprising daily menu that is impossible to disappoint, if you've been here you'd agree, if it's your first time feel free to tell me otherwise Bravo...

The appetizers were fine. However, there was an inordinate amount of time between the appetizer and the Entree. We both ordered the 2 fish combo of Halibut and Shrimp. For $56 each I don’t expect lukewarm food when it finally arrived. Food always tastes better hot. My wife ate hers and I sent mine back. When it arrived for the 2nd time it wasn’t much better. Plus the Halibut was overcooked and dry. No apologies. When I left the waiter said, “What do you want me to do”? I expect a more concerned response since he was supposed to be making me the guest feel appreciated. In retrospect, we probably should have ordered pasta, since we could see those dishes steaming as they went by our table. However, given that the restaurant didn’t have a huge menu which is good. All the dishes should be good. Poor food and service really is not acceptable. All the more disappointing since we had been looking forward to it. My brother who had his office Christmas party there was very positive about the restaurant. All in all. It is unlikely that we would return given both the poor meal and the indifference of the staff....

DECOR :The place is really nice with the right touch of class without going to much. SERVICE: we we're welcomed by a ( not our ) waiter who knew if our reservation ! 10/10 The manager slipped a "Buena Sera " 10/10 We had bread , olive oil , water and the drinks menu on the table before our bodies warmed up from the outside cold 10/10 The waiter was very relaxed and used the surrounding tables's orders to explain the menu, everything he recommended was very good. FOOD: the food took no time at all to arrive first there was : burata & fried calamari then the veal ragu pasta & the linguine di mare both were great choices. AMBIANCE: its cozy , its relaxed while keeping a very "dress up and show up vibe" Unfortunately and not its a small spot so the flow of conversations mixes up all neighboring tables but it is an amazing spot for a third date i would say.

Definitely would go back as their menu was written on a chalk board on the wall wich gives me " we change our menu with the season" vibes.

Burata +fried calamari + espresso martini +linguine + veal ragu + 2 tiramisu =...

Stopped by during the day to see the menu and inquired about reservation. Advised the chef just arrived and menu is not ready yet. Liked the fact that chef is in charge of me he based on available ingredients of the day. Small and cozy place. Reservation was made for 6 PM with our commitment to leave by 8:30 PM. Seasonally available food was fresh Hence, delicious. Fried calamari was heavenly light and crispy. Fresh figs filled with cheese and wrapped in spam was little salty but coupled with glass of red wine was perfect. Grilled Veal chop with polenta and spinach was juicy and cooked to perfection. Halibut, shrimp combined with fresh grilled asparagus, peppers, zucchini, eggplant and anise was my favorite special of the day. Fish was just grill enough to be moist and delicious. Shrimp was crispy yet not dry. Dessert options sounded good but diet killed the pleasure 😔. Oh well next time

An amazing experience! We walked in without a reservation - the place was packed as usual - and our waiter told us it would be a five minute wait. We got settled in and loved the ambience, the vibe and the service. The menu is on a chalk board on the wall, fresh and local ingredients and something for everyone. I ordered the zucchini flowers and lamb ragu (small portion would have been enough but eyes were bigger than stomach!) my husband got the arugula salad and the lamb chops. Our friends had the halibut and the linguine frutti di mare. I also had an amazing glass of red wine from Tuscany! All our food was delicious, great attentive service and a must visit when you are in the area!

Lucca really is a homerun for me. The waitress offered an exceptional service, and the setting is classy, yet casual. The food really is similar to italy’s finest. The burrata come straight from italy and is a delight. We tried the ragu tagliatelle and the seafood linguine, both were well balanced and quite enjoyable. For the seafood linguine, there were lost of big seafood pieces with mussels, shrimps and scallops. Their wine list is interesting , and bottles start at around 50$. Would strongly recommend in little italy ! P.s. other people at other tables ordered the lamb chop. It’s quite pricey at 67$, but it’s huuuge. So if you want to order it, good call to share it.
