We went to this restaurant on Saturday night during the Italian week and yes the street was full of people. The terrace at this restaurant was packed with a lineup, we decided to sit inside. I spoke to the lady in charge and she found us a table. Then the a person came and gave us a menu. It didn’t take us long to decide what we wanted and told this person it would be a wood oven pizza. (40$) She informed us that it would take 10 minutes! She left and went elsewhere in the restaurant. Ambiance was so,so well lite up and people sitting at tables chit chatting. The pizza oven was full speed ahead. Pizzas were going in and out like it was going out of style. We continued waiting and the lady wasn’t coming by. No glasses of water nothing. I got up went to the front and told the lady that we needed glasses and water. She pointed to a tray of glasses and said water would come. Never did till the end. The person we thought was a waiter turned out to be the manager (Ellie)and really didn’t know what she was doing. She was lost talking to anyone while carrying someone’s drink 🍹 in her hand. I asked her the pizza 🍕 was and she said it’s coming now. This was 20 minutes later. She arrived with a pizza, but it was the wrong order. Said oops and went back to the oven. 20 minutes later I got up and went to the oven, just as the pizza came out. Still no water or ice. We had to order a bottle of bubbly to get by. The pizza was nothing fantastic for the money we paid. The sauce tasted like it was from a can and unfortunately the veggies were not cooked well. We managed to get a waiter (Brian) from another section to help us out and he was great. Got us water and kept filling up the glasses with ice. When he confronted the manager she blasted him and said she didn’t know what she was doing. Finally a confession!! Our ordeal was because of her. If you see her change tables or do what a full table...
Read moreMy family and I went to this new restaurant during the Italian Festival, and the whole night was ruined because of our waiter, Brian. From the moment we sat down, he made the experience about himself instead of the customers. He spent most of our meal bashing his own manager, going on and on about workplace drama that no paying guest should have to hear. It was not only unprofessional but also incredibly awkward.
To make matters worse, Brian kept asking us to leave him a good personal review, as if that would somehow make up for the lack of proper service. We came for a nice dinner, not to be pressured into boosting someone’s online ratings.
The most bizarre part of the night happened when I went to the bar to get a straw for my drink. I saw Brian bring the customer from the table next to ours over to the manager, in the middle of service, to demand a discount and a free coffee. This was unbelievable to watch a competent server would handle such a matter privately and calmly, not drag their guest into an awkward confrontation that only made them more upset.
Brian’s behavior screamed unprofessionalism from start to finish. Instead of focusing on the guests’ experience, he seemed more interested in stirring drama, complaining, and pushing for personal favors. The restaurant itself might have potential, but with staff like this representing it, I can’t see myself returning...
Read moreMy family and I visited during ItalFest, and I completely understand it’s a busy week. They told us upfront that food would take at least 30 minutes, which was fine, even 45–60 minutes would have been okay. But after 1 hour and 45 minutes, we still had no food.
We asked if we could just take whatever was ready and cancel the rest, since we had young children with us. They told us only 2 of our 5 pizzas were done. A few minutes later, after we repeated that we just wanted the 2 and would leave, suddenly all 5 pizzas appeared, plus an “extra” one.
Unfortunately, the margherita pizzas had little to no marinara sauce and no basil, leaving them bland and flavorless. Even our Aperol Spritz was watered down. The nearly 2-hour wait, lack of transparency, and poor quality made for a very disappointing experience. It probably would have been far better to serve us the 2 pizzas that were ready and properly made instead of trying to push out rushed, subpar food just to complete the order.
One thing I can compliment are the waitresses. They were kind and empathetic about the...
