I had been searching for a go-to trattoria to add to my list of restaurants I visit often. Not easy to find a great trattoria in Montreal, that is not over-priced for what it is or has decor that is not too stuffy. I'm Italian so I guess I'm a little picky about eating Italian when I go out. But Luciano's checked all the boxes for me: the place is spacious and airy, very convivial. Pretty terrace in warmer months. Luciano came over to personally ask how the meal was 4/5 times I went. They accomodate food allergies and preferences, like gluten-free. Service by Luciano's sons was outstanding! Now the dishes...excellent quality of ingredients and perfectly balanced consistency of home-made pasta. Traditional options, some with fresh, local and modern ingredients. The bread is charred to perfection, lightly oiled with gros sel sprinkled - unmissable. So good. Truly a modern, family run trattoria as it should be! Do yourself a favor - go and experience for yourself. 5 stars,...

A gem for fresh pasta lovers! 🍝

Despite their limited menu options, they needn't offer more to showcase their excellence. Possibly the best pasta spot in Montreal. The wait can be a bit longer than other places, but it's worth it because everything is made fresh. The portion sizes are just right, although I wouldn't mind if they were a bit bigger because the pasta is so good.

🥗 The salad might seem a bit pricey at first glance, but let me tell you, the lettuce they serve is out of this world! I'm not sure what they do to it, but it's inexplicably delicious. In summary, it's an incredible spot that I undoubtedly want to revisit time...

What amazing Italian food! We arrived a little before 7pm and didn't have a reservation. They said that if we could be finished by 8pm (because they had another table coming in), we could sit.

We agreed and we're so happy we did. The service was wonderful from the time we arrived until the time we left.

The food was perfection. I ordered the la bufala, gnocchi di ricotta and the special of the day (pasta carbonara). I could tell from the very first bite, they used fresh ingredients. We didn't have enough time for dessert, but if we did, we would have loved to try the creme brulee...

Luciano Trattoria never disappoints. We started with the carpaccio and the osso buco, both beautifully presented and full of rich, authentic flavor. For the main courses, the tagliatelle was perfectly al dente, and the milanesa was a comforting, well-executed classic. The real gem of the night? Emiliano. His wine recommendation, a 2019 Brunello di Montalcino, was spot on. Emiliano is a true professional: attentive, charming, and always makes us feel welcome. This place combines refined Italian cuisine with genuine warmth. A must in Montreal.

Authentic Italian restaurant in the heart of little Italy in Montreal. I believe it's Sicilian. Not an extensive menu (around 5 choices of pasta and 5 appetizers) but it's part of the charm. Everything taste like a charm. The Osso Bucco appetizer is amazing, as are the ravioli (although more conventional). I repeat: Do not sleep on the Osso Bucco. Service is good, although not as good as Moccione type of restaurants. More friendly, local service. Atmosphere is okay. If you want to travel to Italy for a night, I do recommend strongly.
