Plaza Saint-Hubert — Local services in Montreal

I don't get it. This was listed as one of the cool neighborhoods to walk around in Montreal. We walked from Jean Talon market all the way down to the end of the street. It's nothing but tired old shops, nothing exciting at all. A lot of old school, cheap quality wedding gowns and clothing stores. Nothing hip at all. The closer you are to the end there are a couple of craft beer stores and maybe one or two decent shops. Other than that, this place is not worth visiting if you're from out of town. The Plaza is sure and interesting place to go. Keep in mind that the stores there are half trash and a lot weird people are chilling there. But for me it is what's making it charming. Between Bellechasse and St-Zotique is your area to find great stores varying to one of the biggest photography store around (Lauzeau), game stores, food places, bars and clothing. Going up after rue Saint-Zotique is starting to be something else with wedding dress stores, thrift stores and low budget stores. You can pretty much find something for...

Used to like finding deals here, but when you can find a new coat for cheaper at a store in the mall kind ruins the purpose of coming here. In other word prices have been going up. Also the city ruined this area with construction, the street is gutted open, the sidewalk is like an obstacle course, they took down the glass covers that stoped rain from falling on the sidewalk and it's very muddy...
