I tried Shawarmaz and here is my review of the place.

I have been here multiple times and this is my final review.

The food is pretty good and they have good selections of Middle Eastern Cuisine. Love the Pita the mixed plate and the poutine.

Only service is bad because it’s only one person and that’s what makes a bottleneck lineup.

The washroom is super sketchy even though it’s clean but they have no toilet locks and just everything weirds me out about it.

The food I may be back for but other than that it’s a good place to eat. October, 2023.

Shawarmaz is pretty busy especially during the time when it’s time to eat.

Also I recently tried their Mix Plate with pita and it’s pretty good. I finish the whole thing and there was a lot of food. The meat rice and salads with it were good as well. I will come back again for sure. August, 2023

The Pros:

A) It’s a big space

B) The poutine was Delicious. I recommend their Mix Poutine.

C) They accept credit/debit and cash.

D) Friendly and decent service.

E) They close after midnight.

The Cons:

  1. Service may be slow depending on the time.

  2. Not enough tables for dine in.

  3. No Spoons or knife to eat with when I was there Only forks.

  4. The bathroom is hidden in the back so if there is a queue you need to pass by them first.

Conclusion: I was blown away by the food. Their mix poutine was amazing and the food was not really salty and it was cooked well.

I will comeback for sure in the near future.

Try for yourself and give a review...

Edit: They make people edit their previous reviews so that the bad ones aren’t the first to pop up when you look at reviews on their website 😂

Just to say after writing this review and reporting the matter on uber eats. Shawarmaz removed the item as a whole from their menu and it’s been like that for a few months now. I’m just happy that they can’t try and scam people anymore with a non existent menu item🙏🏻.

I ordered through uber and I expected to receive 12oz of just chicken as the name and description states. As soon as I saw the size of the bowl it was presented in I knew for a fact that it was nowhere near to 12oz. (I also called to ask if it was a mistake as in a typo and an employee just said to dispute it. I’m not quite sure they know what’s on their uber page in terms of pricing and portions. Just seemed a little lost in conversation) In total with the packaging of the bowl itself I received approximately 6.5oz of chicken. Half of what is stated. They need to either update the menu to its true size or not serve it at all because it’s just basically a scam at this point. If only it was 10oz I would give the benefit of doubt but 6.5oz when I ordered and payed for 12oz is just something I’ve never heard or seen before in any city or country. I really hope that prompt action is taken on this because people are probably still ordering this item and are receiving half of what should be and it’s...

Been coming here from past 5 years. Food is amazing and probably that’s the reason why I come here. The two guys at the counter, acting very cocky with customers. Very rude and unprofessional. Seems like they are least bothered about who shows up on your counter. Not the first time, I had skirmish with them two times. They don’t hear you properly and when you try to explain they start getting rude. Not acceptable at all. Glad that I know the owner there who is the most friendly guy I came across. He is very welcoming. I suggest please take this comment seriously. These two fellas are rude with people of specific community. 27th June 2023 , they were rude with me and I did not let them get on me. I was having my food and I hear noises on counter, I see them arguing with an Indian guy. That customer had ordered his drink and the guy at counter wantedly gave him a warm drink. When he went back the guy started arguing and said he will have to pay for the drink and will not take it back. Why would he give him a warm drink at first?? After the guy left with his can, these two gentlemen in the picture started laughing and acting cocky as usual. Their attitude needs to be checked by the management and put them on a training plan on how to behave with customers. AGAIN, I ALWAYS COME...

I don't normally don't like fusion food, because it lacks the authenticity of the original food. But Shawarmaz was able to accurately combine both Quebec food and Arabic food to the maximum of both flavours. The magic isn't only the normal Poutine, but it is the epitome of what an Arabic poutine would look like. Replacing the fries with the garlic potatoes has not only heightened the taste to another level, but it also mixes very well with the sauce and the cheese. Then, you add in either chicken or beef to the mix, and you have an amazing dish that brings both cultures to the palate. The price for the quantity ratio is good. Just taking the small one and I will be full a while, so I know my money is worth it. Now, if I had class after work, I would take the larger one and pay just a small difference of price. It would be enough for both my lunch and supper before class. Therefore, I give Shawarmaz 5 stars, they deserve it. One of the best Poutine places in Montreal.
