This is the only halal butcher who is an actual trained butcher. He understands the cuts and styles very well. He understood what a crown of lamb when I ordered for Easter one year. I would not go to the other grocery across the street as they are not clean and doesn't look fresh. I do not like the other larger competitor down the road because they sell most of their meat marinated. Marinated meat in any grocer usually tends to be older and they are trying to sell fast or keeps longer on the shelf. My issue was with the customer service. This is the most important thing to me.
I was greeted with a smile, however the gentleman had his mouth full of food. That was not a deal breaker however when I asked about purchasing meat, he was not very accommodating.
Example: I asked for 2lb of lamb. He said that he would only sell the full piece of lamb leg. He did not want to cut it. There were 3 complete legs on display.
Wouldn’t it be better to sell a piece as opposed to none at all???
