This review is mainly a shout out the initiative of Tzanis whom over various visits has been upbeat and welcoming. He can usually be found wearing a colourful McDonalds’ tie which fits with his positive demeanour and attitude. Two specific things he did that were exemplary were refunding a breakfast sandwich which was burnt with an egg that had dried out completely, and then on a separate occasion making a super fresh breakfast sandwich; personally — and it showed in its taste and quality. He even said it would be perfect. To me that would make for a stand out member of any team. Kudos and keep up the good work.
In general there is a good group of hard working staff at this location which can become very busy at times. They usually have someone on the floor cleaning which makes a big difference. I also once got a sundae that was made with extra care and pride by one of the counter staff. This was very impressive to see. As I discuss below, and further to it; it is easy to become complacent when working at a large chain, so it really stands out when staff take a moment to smile and make a connection albeit brief, since it is a quick serve environment — but it is still possible to be human and add a human touch. Bravo à l'équipe !
The second part of the review was posted about year ago…. Two staff members Brendan and again Tzanis were kind and respectful when dealing with minor yet, important issues which have come up on several occasions (with respect to getting orders made correctly - as per the details specified at the time of the order). Thanks to both of them for caring that it should be done right and to get it right (respectively). This can be somewhat rare when dealing with enormous restaurant chains, that seem to forget about service and respect for customers. Glad to see most of the team...
Read moreThe food was good as usual, service was fast as usual, but what really made a difference this time was the manager's attitude. We were waiting in line on the drive thru to receive our order when a gentleman who looks like he lives on the street stopped by our window and asked politely if we had a cigarette or some change. Unfortunately, we didn't but before we could answer, the restaurant manager looked by the window, saw the man and said ''hey!'' to him to get his attention. Thinking he was probably going to be scolded for ''bothering'' the clients, the gentleman quickly left, but then the manager exited the store with a McDonalds paper bag with hot food in it. He offered it to the man, who wasn't sure if he understood the situation clearly. Not to scare him, the manager left the bag of food in front of a bush, letting the gentleman from the street decide if he wanted to come back and get it or not. He did, the manager got back in, and all 3 of us in the car were so impressed. We were expecting to hear harsh words and see the manager scold the gentleman, but instead he showed so much empathy, humanity and compassion. We were really impressed. What he did should be the norm, but in a big city like Montreal, it simply isn't, unfortunately. We will never forget what that manager did. Thank you, restaurant manager Monday November 18th 2024 around...
Read moreI have just left after my fourth and final visit. Every visit has been a disaster. This is easily one of the slowest service of any McDonald's in Canada. It also may serve some of the most unappealing and poorly constructed McDonald's of any that I have ever visited worldwide. Just to sum up recent trips to this location. I waited 18 minutes for my order when there 9 people in the restaurant. I ordered a large fry and a small ice cream cone. I came at 5 AM and was promptly told to leave the store as they couldn't serve food. I asked when they would be able to and they said they had no idea and to come back later today. I ordered a fillet of fish and what I received looked like a dog had mangled it first. The burger top was torn and there was tartar sauce all over the inside of the container. The fish was as dry and tasty as Styrofoam. It was like trying to chew beef jerky. I just left after waiting 10 minutes after ordering an ice cream cone via the electronic kiosk. They finally call my number out after a 10 min wait to then inform me that they have no more ice cream left. This place is an unmitigated disaster, avoid at all costs I would give zero...
