We've never been to a restaurant where the food was so terribly cooked, seasoned, and served that we didn't finish it. We mean it —sadly— truthfully and with some remorse since we love and appreciate Mexican food and but because we know and we love Mexican food, we feel the urge to share this with other people who might want to try this place. Maybe it was a day off for them or the stars were not aligning but the enchiladas suizas and the huevos rancheros we ordered were awful, beyond awful, inedible. Sauce: sour and with some sort of onion seasoning that was fighting the sourness | Cheese: tested like fridge | Refried beans: Soooo salty and with the consistency of having been through a blender instead of smashed which made them runny | Chicken: Not actual shredded chicken you boil and season but processed chicken cooked in a mysterious combination of seasonings that added nothing to the plate and much to the uneasiness of the experience. Rice: Oily and not cooked thoroughly (some grains felt like little rocks). We didn't eat most of the day after this because the flavours, quality and consistency we tasted were overtly present. Service —except for the cashier—was not friendly, not rude, but inattentive. They handed us the wrong order at first and then came back to ask us if we had eaten/touched it already and/or if we wanted to keep it, we said no and they took it back to the kitchen. Again, it might have been just the order, the day, the time, we don't know. But definitely paying closer to $60 for this wasn't worth it and we want to make sure people who love Mexican food know what not to order or what they might be...
Read moreI just had a terrible experience at the take-out counter. I ordered (like I have several times before) 500 g of fresh chorizo so that I could take it home to make later this evening. I was surprised to find out that the guy behind the counter started cooking it up! I immediately told him, also the person behind the cash and another server that that was not what I wanted. I said it several times, and they kept saying that they don't sell fresh chorizo... but I've bought it there several times before. They said that they only sell it frozen in 2 k bags... but I've bought 500 g of fresh (not frozen) chorizo there before. The guy who cooked it up said that he didn't have any fresh chorizo to give me, and that I would like it better the way he cooked it, and that he "didn't cook it all the way." I said, that's not what I want again. Anyway, stupid me, I paid for it--$28!!! (for 5 fresh tomatillos, a bag of chips, a bag of tortillas). I was so angry I couldn't speak. I should have just said I didn't want any of it, and should have walked out. My daughter was with me, so I just kept my anger in check, paid and left. I will never spend another cent in that place. I've been there for lunch once before, and the food was mediocre at best, but I used to enjoy going there for chorizo every once in a while to make a quick dinner at home. Next time, I'll go to the latino market that is a few...

The waiters, very friendly and welcoming which is exactly the type of energy you need to be greeted with every single time you walk into a restaurant.
Next is the wait time of ordering your food. Personally with my experience there it would be no more than 10 minutes even if you go with someone. Very quick service.
The drinks are amazing, I always go for a Jarrito (lime, mandarin, mango) to better my eating experience.
The price for the Birria tacos that I got were abit on the pricey side but what did you expect from a restaurant in this economy, i definitely got my moneys worth. With Birria tacos and a drink including a tip it would be around 25-30$ which can be pricey for some but this isn’t something you eat everyday even if I could. It’s definitely one of those restaurants you revisit every now and then and a great back up restaurant to go to.
Location: the location is a solid 3.5/5 for me as it’s great to be a 5 min walk from metro Jean talon but they definitely need to expand their business to Laval one day.
Sometimes you get to have interactions with the chef if they aren’t too busy. Very friendly aswell. Love this place for the rest of my days and will definitely be coming back as...
