Finally made it to Parma after hearing all the hype, and tasting is believing! These are some of the most delicious sandwiches (paninis) I’ve ever had in all my travels. Beyond the generous portions (you could definitely share a sandwich and a fry for 2 people), the ingredients are fresh and combined into wonderful creations that melt in your mouth and make you want more and more even after you’re full. I ordered the chicken cutlet which was excellent, particularly the light breading on the chicken itself which was fried and seasoned to perfection, I could eat just the chicken itself all day long. But the Eggplant Parm really stole the show. The lightly fried eggplant with a savoury tomato sauce and absolutely killer pesto was a mouth watering experience. Do not miss this panino! And for $5 more you can get a huge portion of some of the best fries served with truffle mayo and a drink of choice. Excellent value, and to top it off, a super friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Highly recommend Parma Cafe, will...
Read moreThe seating area is nice and the staff are friendly.
The manager needs to keep an eye on the hygiene. I got some minor food poisoning from eating there. When I paid attention on the next visit, I noticed the workers would occasionally switch between handling the food and potentially dirty objects like the actual mail.
The area tends to smell as the kitchen hood does not appear to be working properly and you can smell the grease in the cafe which can get annoying if you're there for coffee and a bit of reading. This is still a problem one month later.
The coffee isn't good with no expiration date on the beans they sell. It tastes like old expired coffee. Poor practice compared to the good cafes nearby such as cafe st.henri .
Their sandwiches are bland and not worth ordering again compared with good ones such as from Dépanneur Le Pick Up around...
Read moreI wish I could say anything about the food, but I didn't even get to try it. Came in around 5 yesterday, place looked super empty with a couple people hanging out at the bar. No one is in line and not busy by any means. I order a panini and 25min later it's not ready. I can literally see the chef hanging out in the kitchen, wiping down a counter every couple of minutes, but in general, looking super unbothered. I finally ask about my order, he pulls it out of the oven burnt and offers to remake it. At this point, and I don't have time to stay and wait any longer, so I just asked for the pastry on my original order. The cashier looks apologetic but doesn't offer to cop it or any kind of compensation. Not really impressed with the service :( i wanted to...
