Moa Moa is a cute, unpretentious little Korean restaurant with friendly staff, flavourful dishes, affordable prices, generous portions and a varied menu. They have lots of vegetarian options.
I highly recommend it. 🫰🏻
August 2024
The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but luckily a table freed up within 5 minutes.
One staff member at Moa Moa does all the customer service and waitressing. She's trilingual, zooms around the restaurant serving everyone at once and is very attentive to her customers. She set our table and took our order quickly, checked in on us several times and made sure we had everything we needed. We could tell that she really cared. 💕
Our entrées arrived within 10 minutes, and our meals were served promptly after that.
I always get the tofu japchae when I come here. It's sweet, chewy, peppery and just so darn good. The tofu melts in your mouth, and somehow the noodles stay piping hot for hours. 🍜
The sweet and spicy bite-sized tteokkochi is addictive. It's coated with a tangy sauce and satisfyingly cripsy on the outside and chewy on the inside. 🥢
My husband had beer, fried chicken and ttukbaegi bulgogi, and he thoroughly enjoyed them.
The cherry on the cake was the little side of kimchi and (what I assumed to be) pickled radish. So simple, but so tasty. 😙👌🏻
2021, During the pandemic
When I stopped by, the restaurant was a bit understaffed. Its two employees could barely keep up with their online delivery orders and in-store customers. I had to wait 10 minutes just to place my order, and a customer who walked in turned around and left after a few minutes! The employee was very nice and apologized several times for the delay.
If you're not in a hurry, the food is worth the wait. I tried the tofu japchae: it was 6% vegetables, 4% tofu and 90% noodles (maybe that's why their prices are so low) and so flavourful! I wasn't expecting such plain-looking noodles to be so tasty. Plus I had enough leftovers for two meals!
They use styrofoam takeout containers, so maybe remember to bring your own.
I'll definitely be coming back to try out...
Read moreMoa Moa is one of those rare hidden gems that never disappoints. It’s a cozy, no-frills Korean diner that specializes in crispy, golden fried chicken — do yourself a favor and get the half & half (sweet/spicy + soy garlic combo)! The flavors are bold and addictive without feeling overdone.
It’s my go-to stop after a drink in Verdun, whether I’m grabbing takeout or sitting in for a late meal. The vibe is relaxed, casual, and perfect for a solo visit, date night, or a small group of friends — just don’t come expecting a big dining room or fancy presentation, because that’s not what Moa Moa is about.
Their Japchae with pork is a personal favorite: rich, savory, and loaded with flavor. And the seaweed salad is always fresh and crisp, a great balance to the heavier dishes.
This place quietly delivers every single time. Friendly service, solid portions, and consistently great food. Highly...
Read moreI love Korean food and I'd never tried this place before, so we ordered several dishes to get a really good idea. We were pleasantly surprised! We tried the tteokbokki, popcorn chicken (original), edamame, fried shrimp, galbi and bulgogi. The tteokbokki was the perfect chewiness and deliciously spicy. The edamame was good. The fried shrimp were the long kind in tempura batter. The popcorn fried chicken was really good! Crispy, yummy batter on the outside and juicy, tender chicken pieces inside. The bulgogi was tasty, but the portion was heavy on the rice and it was sticky rice. The galbi were yummy and a good portion. Both the bulgogi and galbi came with vegetables and rice. Overall, the food quality was very good and the quantities were decent. The staff was also friendly and the restaurant had a cute decor and looked very clean. I'll definitely...
