The wildest thing happened to me there yesterday. So, for Christmas, my wife and I were offered a Treater gift card by my mother-in-law. All locations of Pizzeria Geppetto are a part of the Treater roster. So, we placed an order for roughly 90$ with the restaurant over the phone for pick-up. When we got there, the employee refused to take our Treater gift card, claiming that the restaurant had not been doing business with Treater for over a year/that they did not have the app to make us pay/that they did not accept gift cards during the holidays. The employee's thoughts seemed scattered, which made us think they simply did not want to accept the gift card and were improvising a reason not to (because well, if hadn't accepted Treater in over a year, I'd have been surprised we'd have been the first customers who had shown up with Treater since the restaurant still appears on their website). Therefore, without even arguing with them or making a fuss, we simply left the restaurant but (naturally) did not take the food with us. I reached out to Treater to let them know that it appears that this restaurant does not do business with them anymore. Treater seemed surprised as well as they did not receive word of that. Treater calls the restaurant and while I will be receiving a follow-up from Treater tommorow, the employee tried to tell Treater that I threw a pizza in the employee's face! (And I found this out because I kindly offered to go back to the restaurant to pick up the order after the employee had been told their business relationship was still ongoing!) Needless to say, I am appalled that an employee of the restaurant would outright lie about abuse (neither me nor my wife raised our voice, let alone threw food at someone! We never even touched the bags!) and would avoid at all costs. Truly disgusting behavior and it's absurd to me that someone would make such accusations because they either got caught in a lie or did not know how to do their...
Read moreMy wife and I used to go to this restaurant often before we had our son so this was not our first time. However it was the first time in a while because they were closed at this location for a lot of the spring.
Anyway my wife and I took our 16 month old son there this past Friday evening. The service and food was amazing as always.
When we first arrived they had a little trouble finding a high chair for our son but I really appreciate that one of the people working there went out of his way to make sure we got our high chair, even checking their sister restaurant next door.
There was a deal on drinks (we got some Aperol Spritz's) and they had a kids menu which was perfect for our son (things like pizza, etc).
The foccacia appetizer was great, we were expecting bread with oil but it was closer to a garlic bread pizza (came out of the pizza oven) and was much larger than expected. My wife got the funghi pasta which she LOVED and I got the seafood linguine (with salmon and shrimp).
We sat inside, which was fairly quiet, food came fast even though their terrace was packed, and the waitress brought a coloring book for our son to keep him entertained till the food arrived.
Was always a nice place for a date (as I mentioned we used to go a lot before our son was born) but also great for a family dinner as well.
Very...
Read moreNice sidewalk terasse and ambiance, good wine selection and decent beer. Service was prompt but disorganized, had 3 different waiters come to take our orders multiple times. The grilled octopus was cooked to perfection but served on cold hummus from the fridge which was a throw-off. The meatballs tasted abit funky, can't quite put my finger on it but they had a slightly unsettling aroma. Pizza was served in a timely manner but wasn't the one we ordered. There may have been some confusion between one of the 3 waiters. They gladly exchanged it, but denied it was their fault. When we finally received our pizza Rustica, it was very mediocre. Soggy in the middle. Italian sausage was more like ground beef and a few scarce slivers of raw/frozen yellow bell peppers were the supposed roasted ones in the description. The cheese was alright but abit too salty with already salty kalamata olives. Would definitely say the pizza was sub par to many other Italian restaurants I've tried in the past. If you really want delicious and interesting pizza, try Nolana, Magpie, Mory or even the spinach pizza at Dany on de la montagne for $3. Come here for the drinks and terasse, not the food. Two entrees, a pizza and two drinks for $80 didn't seem all the...
