My experience here was bad enough that one star feels like too many. I ordered wedding cake tasting for which I had to wait a few weeks and pay $40 for a few slices, and it was truly disgusting. First, the cake was either really old or ... really really old (which they deny). The cake was dense and dry... not what you want for a cake. The fillings (raspberry, passion fruit, pistachio, chocolate etc), tasted fake, manufactured (which they also deny but....)

I went in so excited about this because "everyone loves them", instagram looked amazing.... and this was truly such a big mistake.

Things went from bad to worst when a few minutes later, both me and my husband got food poisoning. I am not just saying that as an expression, but medically speaking. When we informed them at how absurd it was that (1) we paid for a wedding cake tasting $40 for a few frozen old cake slices, (2) we had food poisoning, their response was pretty outrageous.

I have waited months before reviewing them because I did not want to write something hot-headed about a small biz, but this was truly a tremendous fail.

They denied, denied, denied, everything we told them and giving us food poisoning, even though it was literally undeniable because a doctor confirmed that was what was happening and both me and my husband got it.

Then they attacked me and my husband for being so rude and mean... because we told them about our food poisoning and the poor quality of their cake slices.

They never picked up the phone to check in. They just attacked us... something that no one in the food industry does. I have quite a bit of experience in the food industry and the basic etiquette is to call, check in, apologize instead they acted like their cake was g*d-sent and I was the worst person ever for getting sick on their cake and daaaaring to complain.

Anyways, in the end I found another cake person in Montreal who made us the most delicious cake with fresh fruits, a fresh home made jam, fresh icing, and fresh flowers. It was stunning and tasted amazing and it was literally $40 bucks ... for a whole cake.... not a few frozen pieces of stomach turning cake. I guess everything happens for a reason. It's just too bad this is how we were treated, and that my husband had to take a day off work the next day due to the food poisoning (not ideal for a doctor)...

I can't speak as to the quality of their chocolaterie, and I hope they are good... but it is still worth acknowledging their customer service was more of a...

For the last 3 years, I've ordered my birthday cakes from this shop and have been so happy with the gorgeous and delicious cakes (and so have my guests). This year was no exception -- I ordered the newer chocolate hazelnut cake to be picked up on the weekend and for whatever reason, I completely forgot to go to the shop and pick it up 💀 I received a call from someone at the shop who tried to work with me to pick it up in the final minutes it was closing, (where the employee made the extra effort to stay longer than they should have 🥺) but due to a bad match with an Uber courier, it wasn't able to be picked up in time. They put it in the fridge for me to try and grab it on Wednesday when they reopened, and I accepted this as it was completely my fault for not picking it up when I said I would. I figured I could pick up a sad cake from the grocery store instead.

I emailed the shop to apologize for the back and forth (I really summarized the efforts above but it was a very confusing ordeal with Uber) and to thank the employee for their efforts, and was surprised to get a call from the owner, Chloe, who saw my email and graciously offered to meet me at the shop later that day as she had to be there anyway to pick something up. I was so grateful that she reached out to me! I ended up being able to bring my usual delicious cake to my birthday party and enjoy it with my friends. 🥳

I was always happy to support this very talented local shop (I buy the beautiful advent calendars from them for the holidays as gifts!) but am even more of a fan now. Thank you to Chloe and your team for helping me sort out...

It seems they've been around for 5 years, making mostly wedding cakes and other cakes on order. Then during the pandemic they opened the location on centre Street 2 years ago and opened more to the public like walk ins and making a chocolate and the team went from 3 to 20!

It's busy in there, both behind the scenes (employees) and people coming in to pick up orders or buy.

They have chocolates and small pastries and cakes to go (and a few other local products like candles to accompany your cakes). You can walk in and grab, they usually have the chocolates there all the time. If you have a lot to order, you can order them online ahead of time to be picked up at a later date. Especially if it's around the holidays, best to order ahead of time, especially a cake. It's 1 week from Christmas and I overhead someone asking about a cake and the staff said it's not possible until after Christmas but I could have misunderstood.

It's not cheap but the price is within the range of a quality artisan chocolatier. Tastes good and enjoyable like many other places I've been to. Texture on their little triangular chocolate pieces is delicious. Tastes quality, decadent. The bars (like a kit Kat) is good as well. Price wise this chocolate being 10x more I wouldn't say the enjoyment is 10x more but it's lovely and I'll be back.Would buy again but not regularly as it's pricey but...
