Restaurant Lafleur — Restaurant in Montreal

Allow me to introduce you to a Montreal landmark, Lafleur, home of the best steamie (hot dog) around. They tell me the burgers are really good too but I wouldn't know because in the near 40 years I've been going there I've never had one. Lafleur is a small chain consisting of 17 restaurants in and around the island of Montreal. I go to the original stand, and believe me that's all it is. Don't go there looking for frills but if you go looking for the best dogs and fries in Montreal then you're at the right place. Sure it's a little pricier than the competition but aren't you worth it? I usually get an "all dressed" (a slather of mustard topped with cabbage and relish mixed together), a Michigan (meat sauce) cheese with onions and a bag of fries. So I used to be a big fan of this chain. Family owners and run until they sold it to la belle province or belle pro can’t remember. Ever since it seems like the food quality has gone down. I used to love their Michigan hot dog steamie with coleslaw. Or a simple steamie with slaw and mustard. Problem is that the hotdogs always seem like they have not been cooked enough and texture tastes not fully cooked. Fries are the best in the city and their poutine is great except they do not put enough sauce or cheese and it’s quite pricy to begin with. Don't know what happened to Lafleur used to be a staple for great poutines and pretty good burgers & h-dogs, recently ordered a smoked meat poutine , same good fries but practically no gravy , little cheese , and a couple stingy slices of poor grade smoked meat 👎, the original burger was fine , way better than their more expensive Lafleur burger not worth it 👎, forgot my onion rings 👎, food overall below average , I guess they are banking on their reputation before they eventually fold if they keep this...
