As I stepped into Queen Sheba, I was immediately engulfed in the rich aromas of Ethiopian spices and the warmth of its vibrant ambiance. Each corner of the restaurant spoke of tradition and culture, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary experience. The menu, a masterpiece of Ethiopian cuisine, offered an array of tantalizing dishes!
But what truly made this dining experience exceptional was the owner's passionate dedication to their craft. Deeply rooted in his culture, with a deep knowledge of Ethiopian cuisine, he guided us through the menu with enthusiasm and insight, stopping to chat with us and sharing stories. Read moreWe happened to be in Montreal and decided to check this place out. The guy at the bar was attentive after I asked for seating. The server was busy. It took a while to get the menu after we were sat.
A few things were missed that we asked for. Not a big deal. Whatever.
As far as the food. It's not very authentic. The injera was VERY thin. I have never seen anything like that. They were pretty skimpy with it too. We had to wait until the end until we could ask for more injera. You should constantly be checking up on your guests to make sure they have enough injera. I can't do much with just wat.
They didn't have any more boiled eggs for the Doro wat. Weird.
Also, they don't use hen. I had a chicken thigh. Not at all authentic.
The lamb tibs was like a wat. Didn't like it. I was looking for some sizzling tibs. Instead, I got ye beg wat.
Anyway. I suppose they're catering to a different crowd. This...

With high hopes, I ordered the tasting menu, anticipating a delightful experience. The state in which I found my food was disgusting, it appeared as though it had been mishandled rather than thoughtfully prepared for takeout. I had alot of untouch food.
It is regrettable that what could have been a memorable occasion turned into a rather...
