Disappointed, I tried my best to enjoy this Bahn mi and I tried to convince myself that this was good for the sake that it is a Vietnamese sandwich. God forbid me I am not delusional. This was the most stomach wrenching sandwich experience I've ever had.
The place is a mess. The condition of the sandwich parlour speaks on behalf of the hygiene. Messy, dirty and needs the utmost attention and care.
The baguette was way too thick. The portion of the butter on my Bahn mi.... My Bahn mi might aswell have been a submarine exploring the deep depths of butter looking for new discoveries of unexplored sea animals. The depths and portioning of the butter was horrendous. Absolutely criminal. Might aswell been called the Atlantic butter ocean.
We ordered two sandwiches. Avoid the nam neoung (pork) at all cost. 0 stars for that sandwich. The sauteed beef; well it was edible at least. 1.5 / 5 stars for that sandwich.
Let me tell you. When I thought my butter was scrambled eggs at first glance. That should concern you.
The other reviews of the sandwich going in the garbage was probably true. I'm sad to say; mine was thrown up. I don't often put bad reviews unless it's the upmost worst case scenario....
Read moreI'm from Toronto, and I passed by this place on my way home. opted not to grab food from ON ROUTE and instead to place an order from here and eat first. I have no regrets. It's worth it even if it's more pricey than Toronto. A $14 box of bun cuon, but they're really good. Real. I got two barbecued pork and one normal banh MI. I adore the French bread they used, and it was still delicious and fresh when I toasted it the following day. A banh MI costs between $5 and $6, and it's already very filling. I also got their pork, which was excellent. I'm not sure what it's called in Vietnam, but most restaurants offer it with bun cuon. My children were enthralled by it....
Read moreStill so consistent this place! If u see below that is my review from before, I leave it as it is considering my review description is still accurate today! I tried other banh mis in the area and honestly nothing compares to their banh mis.
Still the best banh mis in town for me at least, try it to be the judge! But I highly doubt you will be disappointed.
Their proportions, fresh ingredients, pate spread and all the way to their bread (fresh crunchy soft in the inside, great texture) are all to rave about.
In find the quality and service here to be very consistent.
My present and past go to for banh mi for...
