This is the first bad restaurant experience I’ve had in a really long time. I feel like to survive as a restaurant post-pandemic, you gotta step it up - and this place was a total disappointment. We heard of Posher through their Instagram account and thought as a group of 5 girls to check out their Ladies Night. We walked into this empty restaurant and noticed instantly the vibe was totally different from what the pictures on Google portrayed. So here’s a recap of our experience; the 12$ special for Poke during Happy Hour was actually a sham, we were charged 14$ and even though we pointed out the price on the menu, online and that it was mentioned to us, we got a simple “oh, I guess the menu hasn’t been updated”. They didn’t honor the price as advertised. Secondly, they have wine, cocktails and sake on their menus and surprisingly had none of the wine I asked for and told us they had no sake. When we asked about the free shots on ladies nights, we were told no free shots since we weren’t enough in the restaurant to get the shots. When another group of girls walk in, they magically had sake shots and offered us a shot (we are wondering if what we drank was even sake). Let’s talk about my mojito, it was basically lime water, watered down lime water. The fried seafood platter we wanted was not available and their shrimp tempura, I am pretty sure it was frozen and deep fried, definitely not authentic in any way. Positive note: my salmon poke bowl was good, I genuinely enjoyed it although I would have enjoyed it more if it costed 2$ less as I expected it to cost. To top it off, and I hate adding more negativity to this already very negative review; we luckily verified our bills twice over once we saw the overcharge for the Poke and the ladies night 10% off, wasn’t there so we then had to get that refunded. Thought I’d go to the bathroom before our drive home for the sight of a horribly vulgur and offensively “painted” bathroom. This art was absolutely irrelevant to the kind of restaurant this is. To anyone who reads this, don’t go here please - there are so many amazing places in Montreal and this is not...
Read moreUpdate: We took ourselves to Posher for a very special and rare date night. We made reservations etc. When we got here the staff welcomed and sat us.
Food: was okay but lacked the fresh vegetables from our first visit here.
Atmosphere: our date night was miserable because there was a birthday party going on and they were exceptionally loud and obnoxious. Taking over the whole resto in the service asile. Kids running around and playing over the chairs. Showing the kids how to do smoothie shooters. Breaking glass and ignoring the fact they were in a public resto. It was clear this group were highly intoxicated and the staff though polite would not be able to salvage our peaceful dining experience.
The staff did not speak to the group. They also did not come to check on us or apologize. Perhaps for fear of non payment. But regardless it should not be up to the client to say anything to others of respecting those in the resto.
Honestly I’m greatly disappointed and unsatisfied. I can no longer give this place a high rating because all clients should be important not just the largest paying group.
Food was good hence the two star rating. I will not be returning with my spouse or anyone else until I know this problem is fixed in the future!
From sept 2018- Such a great place with beautiful flavours. We went in the afternoon so it was quiet but the food was fast...
Read moreThe worse sushi experience! My friends and I were petrified when we left this place. First of all, we had a horrible intoxication since the salmon was undercooked and the avocado was really hard, to the point that I had to thoroughly chew it. Also, when you order edamame(the green beans) everywhere you go, they will give you soy sauce. There, I had to ask for it, they brought it, but didn’t bring the little bowls to dip the sushi’s. I asked for the bowl and she answered to me with a whole bunch of attitude that I can pour it in the long big bowls they give you when you arrive at the table. I still asked for the little bowls and when she brought it to us, both of them were chipped, which in multiple cultures and especially in Feng Shui(a Chinese geomancy), eating out of chipped or broken dishes is a sign of bad luck and financial problems. Second of all, the servers were acting all weird, saying “thank you” to you before you could even say it (they said it 18 times, yes I really counted it) and we’re eyeing us...
