Third visit.
Went to check out the breakfast early this morning, good breakfast menu but the regular menu is even better. Had an all dressed pizza and an americano coffee, both were excellent! Roberto took our orders and provided great service all the way through.
The prices are pretty amazing for quantity of food and drink. Everything is priced like it’s 2016. (Take advantage now before Roberto wises up. 🤣)
Highly recommend giving this place a chance, try the menu for take out or sit down, poutines are authentic and delicious.
Personal note; I am surprised at the (few) bad reviews because despite the gambling machines everything from food quality and cleanliness to service speed and accuracy are well above par for not just the neighborhood but for the city of Montréal itself. On all three visits it was consistently good, clean and delicious.
To the students who were angered at having to tip; if you don’t have the ability to tip at least 15% for good service then please don’t go to a table service restaurant. Servers and bartenders of all types have different pay structures and depend heavily upon tips to supplement their lower hourly wage.
If you find the service so bad that you don’t want to tip, fine, speak to the owner/manager and/or post a review. Otherwise expect to tip well for...
Read moreHello everyone! Thanks for reading my review. I am on the search for the best sandwiches and sandwich shops in montreal. I ask people "in the know" and i go check it out. Its simple, I eat great food, I write my reviews with a few great photos. Then you go! Enjoy! And ... Buon appetito 😋
So ... My partner and I decided to venture down the Decarie to check out the chicken cutlet sandwiches at Solaris. Wow they are absolutely amazing and I highly recommend to add the prosciutto OMG 😲! Perfectly balanced with chicken, vegetables, sauce and the bread is soft yet crispy. I asked for some hot sauce and they gave me a great thick chili sauce like Sicily la bomba.
I also had a Cesar salad that was great with real bacon chunks. My partner tried the wings and he said they were da bomb 💣 ... whatever that means lol .
The sports bar ambiance is lively and exciting even for lunch. The restaurant is easy to get to and I was able to park right in front. Bring your buddies or your side chick and grab a panini. Tell them #jackbrown9120 sent you and win a prize 🏆 #spicyadventuresKTOWN ... if you read this far and enjoyed my review please let me know 🙏 🙂 😊. It helps for real... if you go somewhere based on my review, that's absolutely amazing and thank you /...
Read moreIt is cliche to say "Never judge a book by its cover", but this holds true for one of Montreal's hidden gems. Cafe Solaris attributes its pride in the quality of ingredients it uses rather than its flash on its front entrance. Yes! A typical looking walk-in cafe with down to Earth "Joes" making a true living and patrons smile. You are family the minute you walk through the door. But the real reason you come is because you know you will revel in an authentic meal, whether it be a ravishing thin crust pizza tailored to your liking, ciabatta hoagies that explode with freshness and just the right amount of crunch, or one of their gargantuan salads that leave you craving your veggies. That being said, I'd still go with the Goose Basket (a specialty gem, featuring grilled chicken and Italian sausage in a fresh salad mixture..... Yes... You read correctly - sausage in a salad). The decor is not overly fancy and... But the service, hospitality, and fully fresh lunch and dinner menu far outweigh and out match any fine eatery in the city... On top of that, you won't be burning any holes in your wallet. The two partners (Giovanni and Roberto) will ensure you come back for more again and again....
