Stock Bar — Restaurant in Montreal

I am from the US and did have very good experiences in this bar for a few years before the pandemic but was very disappointed when I was back for 1st time in August 2022. Perhaps the pandemic has just destroyed it and the dancers that remained are generally not so good. I felt glad at the beginning when I found out entrance fee on a weekend night is now just $6. Then, after an hour I noticed it was quite empty and more importantly most dancers won’t go fully naked as they do before the pandemic except very few. Later on I went to have a private dance with a short guy M, and was very frustrated to know in seconds that he won’t undress his jeans for it. I was told I need to have 3 dances in order for him to have his jeans off. I felt totally cheated by his sweet words earlier and had no interest in proceeding any more and I tried to get out before we even start anything. He then got really crazy and pushed me very hard against the wall so that it hurt my back badly and demanded that I pay him before I go even though we hadn’t really started. I gave him 20$ in the end unwillingly which he didn’t deserve and got out probably after less than one min since we got in. I was not so angry by the fact that I lost 20 dollars for not doing anything in the back at all. It is after all small money. I was furious because I felt threatened after he violently pushed me very hard. You know the dancers are strong and have great muscles. I probably got injured if my head also hit the wall. I realized that that dancer was really desperate for money and he would probably do anything to get that 20 dollars. This really ruined my entire night. First time visiting this bar last Friday night, in fact first time ever been to a bar like this. We actually walked in here by chance, just looking for a place to drink while in Montreal for holiday. We were surprised to find what we’ve walked into 😁 Drinks were not cheap but the bar guy was very friendly; his name was Antoine, I think. Of course the dancers were amazing, there’s one in particular, Jeff. Jeff came and talked to us after his dance on the stage; such a lovely guy, so I thought, why not, just one dance. The bar guy has told us earlier, just follow the rules. Jeff took me to a private booth closed with curtains, he was absolutely amazing. We’ve gone from one song to another and after each song, he did asked me if I wanted to continue and I would have stayed there for hours if I could but we ended the private dance after four songs. I don’t know why there were people criticizing this bar. And remember, this bar is located in the Gay Village! Their clientelezs are generally men. If you are a straight woman and you’re in a gay dance bar, what do you expect?!? And to the woman who called this bar “misogynist”, please! Get your head out of your back side. The performers were attractive and energetic! I received a private dance, and the experience was both delightful and professional. It was $20 – per dance. In my opinion, it was well spent! I only regret not getting another one.

No issues with the bouncer! Cash and card were both available methods for payment at the bar. I can’t argue claims that the owner forced patrons to buy drinks as I happily bought many throughout the night. The bartender was once pushy about being tipped, though – that struck me as odd as my partner and I had already bought several drinks and tipped each time.

Altogether, it was a fairly seamless presentation. I loved the atmosphere, the staff, and energy of the dancers. Next time I’m in Montréal,...
