I’m genuinely confused by this restaurant’s 4.7-star rating. I spent over $130 on sushi and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. Several of the rolls included hard, unripe avocado and pineapple, which completely threw off the flavor. I ended up having to take apart the sushi just to make it somewhat enjoyable, which is not something I expect to be doing at this price point.
What really bothered me was that when I called to share my concerns, the staff admitted they had received multiple complaints that day and were aware the avocado was bad. Despite that, they still went ahead and included it in our order. That decision shows a serious lack of care and attention to quality.
Sushi should be prepared with freshness, balance, and pride. Especially when working with raw ingredients, there is no room for cutting corners. This felt more like something from a rushed chain restaurant than a place that claims to offer high-quality food.
I’m disappointed, not just with the food, but with how the situation was handled. No effort was made to resolve the issue or acknowledge the mistake beyond a casual admission. I expected much better, and I won’t be returning. I would recommend supporting smaller, local sushi restaurants that take pride in what they serve and truly value...
Read moreFraudulent pricing on DoorDash for the quantity and portion given. See photos. Promotion cost was inflated to seem advantageous, but ultimately was insanely expensive for what it was. 60$ for this order for normal quality sushi pieces is daytime robbery. The restaurant should be ashamed of its dishonesty to its customers. While the food was alright, I will never trust this business again.
If you’re going to advertise a buy one get one free promotion at 2 for 33$, then ask yourself this. If each serving is 12 pieces, then how is one serving of this 33$ to begin with? This is price gauging at its finest, it’s a dishonest promotion, and the food quantity was terrible. 60$ later and two of us are still hungry.
Will never trust this restaurant again. There’s so many better sushi spots, and Sushi Sama will never be considered...

Got sushi, 44 pieces and 4 nigiris. The fish were fresh, but sadly the rice was too mushy not sure if it’s meant to be. And that alone changes everything, but still, sushishop
