In-Depth Review:
Flautas (Tacos Fritos) – $13 The flautas were a stellar introduction to my meal. Crispy, golden perfection on the outside and tender on the inside, these tacos are filled with either juicy chicken or savory mashed potatoes. The textures were on point – crispy, yet soft, creating a satisfying bite with every crunch. The side of fresh salad, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole balanced out the richness of the tacos beautifully. The guacamole, in particular, stood out with its creamy, fresh flavor that contrasted perfectly with the savory tacos.
Quesabirria – $15 for 2 tacos The quesabirria was the undeniable star of the show. The handmade tortillas were soft yet substantial, holding together a generous helping of melty cheese and tender, flavorful beef birria. Every bite was packed with deep, savory goodness. A side of barbacoa broth for dipping took this dish to another level, adding a rich, flavorful depth. The fresh cilantro, onions, and lime added a refreshing zing, while the accompanying sauce gave the dish just the right amount of heat. This is a perfect example of Mexican cuisine at its best – a comforting classic with elevated flavors.
Pastor Tacos – $12 for 2 tacos The pastor tacos were another standout. The marinated pork was perfectly juicy and infused with a blend of spices that gave it depth and complexity. The pineapple was a brilliant touch, providing a sweet contrast to the savory richness of the pork. Fresh onions, cilantro, and lime topped off the tacos, and the sauce added a nice extra layer of flavor. The handmade tortillas were soft, sturdy, and held up well to the hearty filling. These tacos were a fantastic example of how balance is key in Mexican cuisine.
Drinks I started with a spicy margarita, made with house-infused jalapeño tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. The balance was perfect – just the right amount of sweetness with enough heat to keep things exciting. If you’re a fan of spicy margaritas, this one’s a must-try. Next, I enjoyed a refreshing cocktail featuring cactus and Grand Marnier (I can’t quite remember the name!). It was smooth, subtly complex, and a perfect follow-up to the margarita. For dessert, I indulged in the Fresada – a strawberry puree blended with rum and sweet cream. This drink was the ultimate treat, refreshing and sweet, evoking the feeling of a perfect summer evening.
Dessert To wrap up the meal, I went with the flan ($5), and it did not disappoint. The texture was velvety smooth, the caramelization was just right, and the sweetness was perfectly balanced. It was the ideal ending to a fantastic meal.
Conclusion Taco Express delivers an exceptional dining experience with authentic Mexican flavors, elevated by thoughtful preparation and a modern twist. The tacos, from the crispy flautas to the indulgent quesabirria and flavorful pastor tacos, are all packed with bold, fresh tastes. The creative cocktails add another layer to the experience, making it an unforgettable meal. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a relaxing evening out, Taco Express is a must-visit, and one you’ll definitely want to return to time...
Read moreTaco’s Express is the kind of place that makes you feel welcome the moment you step in. With its vibrant decor, warm lighting, and charming “Tequila et Tacos” neon sign, it sets the perfect mood for a laid-back evening with friends. My wife and I visited with another couple, and the atmosphere instantly made us feel like we were on a mini getaway to Mexico.
The service was exceptional, friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food. We were especially impressed by the variety of salsas and peppers available, which added a fun and flavorful kick to the meal. If you’re into spicy food, you’ll love exploring their options.
We ordered several dishes to share, and both the appetizers and main courses were excellent. The nachos, loaded with toppings and beautifully presented, were a highlight, generous portions and full of flavor.
One small tip: the juices served aren’t natural, so we recommend skipping them and opting for a Jarritos instead, it’s a perfect match for the tacos and keeps the authentic vibe going strong.

Read moreThis used to be my favorite taco spot, all through 2025 until recently (1-2 months ago). I always order through ubereats and the food usually gets picked up pretty quick, same as before but the quality has gone from a 10/10 to a 4 at best. I mostly (if not all the time) order Quesabirria tacos and the tortillas are mostly undercooked and soggy, the meat is fatty and sometimes even has a smell. They forget the garnishes half of the time (onion cilantro, lime). The consommé sometimes feels super watered down, and the roja sauce has definitely taken a major hit as well. From ordering at least once a week, now it’s once a month maybe to see if standards improved but it’s such a disappointment. The uber ratings went from 4.9 to 4.0-4.2 which is extremely accurate if not overestimated at this point. Even the drinks are watery and subpar, I’d avoid. Take a look at the pic and tell me if this matches the one on the menu or if it even looks...
