Tommy Café — Restaurant in Montreal

The food was good although very overpriced, but the problem was the TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE!!!

The first time I went there, me and my friend had to wait over 45 min for a simple iced latte. Within 20 min of getting my coffee finally my avotoast came. The waitress glanced at us a few times but never came to see me. I had to go up to her and ask in how much time we would be getting our order for her to realize we still hadn't gotten anything (keep in mind there are only like 5-6 tables).

The second and last time was the absolute worst. First of all, the menu and the utensils were THROWN onto our table. Secondly, within 15 min of being there, the waiter made us move tables which he should have thought of before we were even seated. Then, I ordered for an iced almond milk latte and the waitress instead brought me a coffee with the wrong milk, oatmilk. I didn't make a big deal out of it, because I personally don't mind oatmilk either. BUT, when we were ready to pay, my friend didn't give tip, because of the two bad experiences of costumer service, while I did out of generosity, and the waiter had the audacity to look at the machine while she was putting her pin number in and how much tip she was gonna give. He then proceded to confront her about not giving tip, but doing so in a really demeaning manner, treating us like little kids, which was completely different from the way he treated the two adult male costumers that paid before us. He made my friend repeat 3 times that she didn't want to put tip, and then proceded with explaining that they did table service (also keep in mind that they never came to check back on us, soooo where was the service?). Instead of accepting it, he told us in front of the rest of the rest of the costumers that next time we came, we had to give tip and basically insinuated that we were being disrespectful with not doing so. This experience ended up with him being very irritated and not even responding to our goodbye.

Love the decor but otherwise poor experience this Saturday for breakfast. My partner ordered a side of bacon well done with poached eggs and black tea. The waitress said they’re out of earl grey so he said any black tea will do, he’s flexible. She brings green tea. When the food comes, the undercooked bacon was on my plate (not his, and not well done at all) along with undercooked runny eggs on both plates (we could’ve specified, and she could’ve asked, but given that black tea and well done bacon was misunderstood, unlikely other requests would’ve come through). There is quite the cold draft (-11 outside today) even at the 2nd booth from the door to the point it was uncomfortably cold. When we said we were done and she took our plates, my partner’s wallet and card was on the table to pay. The waitress didn’t clue in to bring us the bill, but instead went and sat at the bar to drink OJ and wrap cutlery until we asked. Ugh…clueless service today, sorry. Food was also poor, salad was old leaves, and potatoes were strongly flavoured with turmeric. Even ketchup didn’t help. Good luck to this cafe, I hope you can improve...

I must admit, I approached this cafe and Italian place with a hint of skepticism, unsure of what to expect. However, from the moment I stepped inside, I was pleasantly surprised. The cozy ambiance immediately put me at ease. As I settled in, I couldn't help but notice the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air, drawing me towards the counter.

Their lattes are simply divine and let's not forget about their pizzas - perfectly thin crusts adorned with a symphony of fresh ingredients that dance harmoniously on the palate.
