It's funny how different people can have different experiences. We are from out of town and decided to have supper at this restaurant. I can't say that it was overly busy, and we did get seated and received menus in a fairly timely manner. After the food arrived, I asked the other three people at our table how it was, and they said their food was okay, but mine was actually terrible.
My dish was lasagna with meat sauce and the noodles were so overcooked that they were falling apart and were watery. There was very little cheese on the top and the portion size wasn't great, either, for any of us. When the server came by, I mentioned to her that the noodles were way overcooked, and she said she would tell the cook. There was barely any meat in the sauce, and the sauce itself was very sweet, almost tasted like ketchup. However, I didn't mention that to our server.
Another one of our party asked for extra salsa and it wasn't coming. In the end, we had to flag down a different server to bring that to us.
When I went to pay for the meals for myself and my husband, I mentioned again that the noodles were terrible. She just apologized and didn't offer any kind of solution.
I have never had lasagna like that. And I hope I never have to again. I really thought that perhaps they might take the price of that dish off our bill, but they didn't. In fact, I realize now that I should have sent the dish back, but the others were eating theirs, so I thought I should eat mine, too.
We know to stay away from this restaurant in the future. The other three people eventually told me that their food wasn't the best, but it was probably better than mine.
Due to our experience, I wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreHaving grown up in Sask, Saskatoon's the berry were a summer fruit that was looked forward to, I remember picking them and my Aubt making deserts with them, the pie was so good and the only time to get them. Not easily found now that she has passed, but this place does, I moved to Arizona in 95. and have only been able to find it here at this restaurant I had not been home since 2017, took a chance that they still made it, the gentleman that worked there was kind enough to call his manager to see if he could sell me a whole pie which they don't usually do, but he was kind enough to go out if there way to sell me one to take home back to AZ. He was kind, very willing to go out of his way to make it happen. I'm just impressed with how he let me have the whole pie, in 2017 the restraunt was owned by a previous owner who would only sell me a slice, I know this sounds petty to reveiw on this issue, but to me it meant alot as I brought it back to AZ and shared it with some Nurses. And they all loved it. I don't love or miss snow. But there are these small little things that MooseJaw has that are missed. And after living in a big city the people are not going to go out if their way as this gentleman did, I am still proud that I grew up and lived there and no matter where I live MJ will always be home. And it's people like him that make it even more special. Go there and try a slice, and meet the staff, great reps...
Read moreI’m disappointed, this isn’t a place that I eat at frequently and it’s been a while since I’ve been here for a meal but I used to eat here now and then with a friend who was a regular and always had a decent meal with home cooked style food. This last time I ate here I was alone and had the “Hot Turkey Sandwhich” served on rye bread with a coffee and salad as a side. It was not at all good.
The turkey was dry, the gravy it was served with was cold, to the point it was still partially gelatinous and the portion was very, very small and disappointing. It seemed as though leftovers had been dumped on a piece of bread and partly microwaved as there was warm and cold spots throughout. I mentioned my disappointment to my friend who used to be a regular and he claimed that ownership had changed since he and I used to go there and the quality had gone downhill? Not sure about ownership but definitely disappointed compared to meals I had here in the past. I left disappointed and still hungry, to the point where I seriously considered going around the corner to McDonald’s after finishing my “dinner”.
The coffee was good and hot and refills offered promptly from a polite young waitress with glasses. The only bright spot in a...
