Had to come to moose jaw for a medical procedure. Made the reservation ahead of my procedure. I have been a loyal member of best western tor 6 years. Never stay at any other hotels. Their prices is always good and we never had any complaints until last night our 1st night at the hotel. Staff certainly very friendly and helpful. But this was the noisiest Best Western hotel I have stayed in ever. Not even to talk about their breakfast this morning. I was supposed to have a good night's rest before my procedure but nonetheless. Got to the room and after bit went to the bathroom. Towels was not clean but that got sorted quickly The kids was roaming and running in the hallway. Slamming doors knocking on doors. Adults was standing in hallways chatting. Clear signs up asking to not gather in the hallways. Called reception complaining. They said would get right on it. Guess for a few seconds they did but nothing helped. Kids and adults juts kept on making noise until after 11 last night. When it finally quieted down and i decide to use the aircon. That started making noises coming out of train movies. Finally got in maybe 3 hrs of rest.kids was busy early again making noise Unrested irritated and juts pissed off got up took a shower and went downstairs. Went straight to the front and asked if I could check out earlier than scheduled as I was supposed to be there 2 days and rest after my procedure again not taking the long road.Explain to supervisor my reason and what was going on. She understood apologized. Asked when do I want to check out said will let hubby have breakfast then will leave I mean it's paid for atleast. Well what another dissapointment. Not a decent breakfast at all. Was minimal too choose from. Kids was all over the place minimal seating and just not a breakfast that should be served by the hotel. Gosh I have been to hotels in Saskatchewan of best western that really are proud of their hotel and you can see everywhere in the hotel including breakfast areas. Not this one. Went upstairs got my stuff checks out and left. This is one of the best western hotels I will skip. I will travel the extra mile to find another one that will be better. It left a sour taste in my mouth. And for the adults letting their kids make such noise not considering others shame on you. Disrespectful. And I guess the staff could not control it either as it kept on...
Read moreHotel nice, no complaints there other than kitchenette kind of poorly designed.
Now for THE BAD: I don't hate kids, they're great and in fact I really like them but what I do not like is when they are obviously being allowed to treat the whole hotel as their personal playground unsupervised. So with that said. Kids hockey teams staying at hotel. That will teach me to ever stay at a hotel with a water slide ever again. Its always like this. Ugh. I travel minumum 20 weeks a year. Packs of children running up and down the halls at all hours knocking on doors. You have no idea who else is staying here or what their work schedule is. I don't even really want to be here in Moose Jaw but I have to for work. I'd rather be at home, not here with you. Hockey Mommies, Daddies: have some respect. I bet this is why the hotel staff get crabby because every other guest is upset they need to endure a horde of children being a nuisance. Sorry I'm not out here for fun, I'm here for work, I live in hotels for weeks on end and I really really don't care about lame excuses as to why 15 kids are hanging out in the hall way outside my room. Once every two hours Mommy or Daddy emerge from the bunker after taking their fingers out of their ears no doubt to pat junior on the head for being cute or something, certainly not to tell him to pipe down and then dissappear again so they could run amok. I don't remember being allowed to be a pain to everyone around me when I travelled with teams at this age. My parents made me mind my manners, and I certainly wasn't creating a rukus in the hall way all afternoon and night. Give me a break I'm tired and just want to relax for the love of pete. Its actually not the hotels problem that you can't figure out how to entertain your children, its not. I don't put this on them. This is just parents being lazy or not thinking. Either way your lack of care is ruining my day, my skype conversations and my dinner with incessant racket.
My only suggestion for the hotel is: If you know the hockey horde is coming please please put business travellers and regular people on the top floor and let the rest of hotel just get destroyed. That would be...
Read moreWorst service in a Best Western franchise. Booked via phone, the same way I have booked with several other Best Western's in Alberta. Showed up and 1.) Ridiculed by the desk staff, when I showed my military card, 2) was told that I needed to provide a $300 CASH deposit (which I have never had to provide @ Alberta, let alone I was forced find the only BMO in town to get said cash); 3) we requested a crib/playpen during the room booking, which wasn't given to us till 3hours after check in, and we were originally told by the staff that we would be made to wait till the following morning because "they couldn't get into the room and that was supposed to be Housekeepings job"; and 4) Not a single guest in the hotel, could use their key cards to get into the pool/hottub area. Rooms are outdated, the room was set at 24, when we walked in, and the bed and pillows are way too soft to sleep comfortably, also only one extra pillow for the sofa bed even when the room specifically was mentioned to have 2 adults and 2 children. The room has a Kitchenette but not a single item to actually USE the Kitchenette (no silverware, dishes ect.)
Very disappointed in the entire experience so far, after an almost 10 hour trip from Edmonton, Alberta with two young children, the LAST thing we wanted to deal with was nothing but grief over the check in process and inability to have our reservation...
