My mother and I made Veroba's our Saturday lunch destination. Nice place with a modern diner like feel. They were busy with lunch hour, but the service was quick. What I wanted wasn't on the menu I was given, so I asked if the dish was served here. It, in fact, was so liver and onions and bacon with side of fries and mixed vegetables it was, for both my mother and eye. Liver was a staple in our diet as youngsters, I have fond memories of it still. Over the years, several lunch dates with Mom failed in getting a well prepared liver meal from other restaurants in Moose Jaw. When the liver meals came to the table, they looked home cooked. They looked delicious and, in fact, were. Good liver is hard to come by, and finding someone to prepare it properly was equally as hard. Verobas nailed it! Both my mother and I loved the meal, and it tasted like long ago. The French fries, homemade, were excellent as well, and the side vegetables were properly cooked and tasted great. If this restaurant can cook liver this well, their other dishes must be fantastic. I'll be returning to this lunch destination over and over again for sure....
Read moreVeroba's is truly a page out of how diners used to be decades ago - in a good way. The food truly does feel home-cooked and fresh and the service is done amazingly by those who do a good job. It was full when we showed up and the staff did excellent in managing and taking care of many tables. The food arrives relatively promptly and the portions are rather good. Meant in a good way, the specials are not much on discounts - so get the meal you want rather than being steered in a particular direction. Grabbed a poutine for my side dish and the strong gravy was a definite bonus. Personally, the price for soft drinks was a bit too high for my blood but, again, the food was exceptional with no complaints. Additionally, the bathroom facilities there were wonderfully kept and another strength of the place. When you have a chance to leave your table feeling that it was a true home-cooked meal in an authentic diner setting, it's worth it.
A good business to support. Do be aware that how busy Veroba's is varies - the same Sunday or Saturday on a different weekend can have substantially different amounts of people...
Read moreWe were in Moose Jaw for a few days and Veroba's was suggested to us by a family member for breakfast. We arrived around 7:55am and there was a line-up of people waiting for them to open at 8am. I have worked as a cook for over 40 yrs so to me this was a good sign of good food. It did not disappoint! They did have a sign inside stating that when they were busy, food could take up to 45mins. Homemade hashbrowns wih ham + green onions where great and filled half the plate! I had the breakfast sandwich (fried egg, bacon, cheese on english muffin) which came with hashbrowns. My husband had eggs, sausages (they came grilled & butterflied not deep fried 👍) , toast, and hashbrowns. Breakfasts came with coffee or tea.
The restaurant was VERY busy but yet, the waitress did an amazing job. As busy as it was, she was friendly and fast and remained calm. Reminded me alot of when I worked as a cook at a 24hr truck stop back home. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting. It's rated as one of the best...
