Delicados Downtown — Restaurant in Nanaimo

Hailing from Chicago, land of gastronomy and a global food scene, with aspirations to be a 'foodie' I recently fell in love with Delicado's during my visit to Nanaimo. Wes and Joanne are phenomenal hosts and the entire staff greets you with enthusiasm and smiles. The grub is great! Superb actually. From a multitude of wraps to scrumptious salads. Some of my favorites were the cold pad thai salad, the quinoa salad, the hummus, and the veggie roll-up on a curry wrap! The heat of the chipotle sauce is simply spot on. All ingredients are fresh and local, there are no walk-in refrigerators onsite, and all food is prepared same day! This means everything is fresh! During my visit the place was bustling with a steady stream of happy and hungry people of all ages. A family friendly place with a warm, southwest feel environment. I have been a regular customer of Delicado’s on Wesley Street, Nanaimo for over 20 years now. It has been my go to place for lunch, actually it was at least a once a month addiction when I worked downtown. Now, my trips to Nanaimo are arranged around a meal at Delicado’s. What I’ve noticed is whenever I eat there, my stomach says thank you. The food is always fresh, wholesome and delicious and the wonderful staff add to an always consistently great experience and product!

Really excellent food and customer service.like previous reviews have stated, not traditional mexican AND its still amazing food. Very well flavored, vegetables very fresh. We ordered the kids chicken and cheese burrito, my son devoured it, I had the vegetarian burrito with medium spice, it was excellent and my partner had a small nacho and a small bean and cheese burrito. So awesome. The owner brought our food to the table, was very friendly and even comped us the tortilla bake( I think that's what it was called? ) !!! Such an amazing experience overall.
