Visited today to have lunch with a girlfriend.. The service was ok, the waitress was very nice and checked up on us often. I had no problem with her or the service she provided.
The pizza though. I've been to New York and had several pizzas in several restaurants there, even walk up bodega windows. I'm confident in saying any self respecting New Yorker would be offended by this place attaching their name to the offensive collection of ingredients masquerading as food.. It's NOT New York style.
I ordered a 14" Ham and Pineapple pizza, and can honestly say it was the worst pizza I have ever had. It was even worse than those pre-made pizzas made by the deli at any typical grocery store. You know, the ones that come in a plain brown cardboard box with the frosted over little window in the front? Yeah. Those are better.
The ham in my pizza was same stuff you get at the deli too - thick cut, plain, bland and boring. It's luncheon sandwich ham. The pineapple was completely bland and flavorless, and the sauce was the same. It may have just been tomato paste. And there wasn't much of it.
But the crust. The crust was spectacularly bad. It was thick, oily and somehow, still crusty and dry. It had no give and tasted like compressed paper drink tray. It was basically like a thin layer of bland served on melba toast.
It's a great location, and I love the vibe of seeing the busy world going by outside. Nice ambiance and all.. Just the pizza was terrible. Had my friend not been paying, I might have asked for a discount, or even returned it to the kitchen. I brought leftovers home, and even my garburator kids that will eat anything wouldn't touch it.
I might try something else on the menu someday, but not until my memory fails me enough to have forgotten what their pizza tastes like.
TL;DR: Ordered pizza. Should have eaten the napkins. Would have...
Read moreWeve been wanting to try this place forever and finally went tonight. The pizza was terrible and way overpriced. Honestly would choose dominos over theirs any day. My fiance had pasta and the sauce was watery and bland. My kid had mac and cheese and that was the only thing worth going for. Super disappointed, but could have left happier if we had good service. The server was a grumpy woman who didnt even ask how we were before asking us what we wanted to drink. Our food was brought to us after a very long wait by another server and we were never asked how it was. We ate because we were starving and sat with plates we clearly werent eating for forever. Our server was no where to be found so I had to find someone to ask for a box for leftovers for the dog and our bill. Our server then finally came back from smoking outside and didnt even wash her hands before coming to the table with our bill. Asking us if we wanted a machine before even handing us the bill. Not once did she ask how we were or how the food was. Legit worst service ive recieved ever. Never going back and never recommending...
Read moreMy Wife and I went here today for Lunch. Seats and top of baseboard heaters covered in human hair and dirt. Bathroom was nasty. Place was very hot inside, no air conditioning. We ordered 2 small Pizza's , Tropicana and Brooklyn , ... the Pizza's we received were atrocious. We picked our Pizza's up and the toppings slid right off the crust. The crust wasn't a crust , ... it was a perfectly round Cardboard biscuit, ...maybe similar to a Frozen Delissio pizza crust but only half cooked through, .... wet soggy Cardboard biscuit is what both my Wife and I thought. We immediately stopped eating and asked to talk to waitress. I asked her if you guys make your pizza crusts from scratch, hand kneaded, made to order. She said she didn't know. She said to us, So Your not a Fan . We said we are done, we will pay bill. Then the waitress asked us so What is Pizza crust / toppings supposed to look like. We told her, shook our head, paid and Left. We will never come back here, never. We drove up to Milano's and ordered 2 Pizza's, everything...
