I have had noodlebox for as long as it was a little kiosk outside in China town Victoria. However, this last visit stuck out in a bad way more then before. My complaint is I was waiting in line Monday at 230ish. Not a busy time of day. There was two peoples head in the line. One was just picking up and the other ordered something for there. I was about to get served when the phone rings. There are only two staff members and of course the girl at till answers it. I was rushing around and had already debating if I wanted to wait for a box. Who h usually can take a ahile. However, on a Monday at 230 in November I was expecting it to not take too long. So had already waited in line for 3 minutes. Had one order a head of me. Bit then just when it was my turn to order the phone rings. I'm the only person waiting in line now. So instead of answering it and asking to hold while I should have been served first or having staff to serve me while somebody deals with the phone in order.I lose my place in line and the phone in gets expedited ahead of me waiting in line. Not a way to treat customers who are already at your store waiting to be served. That is a terrible customer service policy. Why should phone in orders get priority to jump past the line? Not the staff's working at the time fault. The two staff working were both nice and friendly.but this will be the last time I ever waste my time going to noodle box cause of the bad policies the owners and managers have creayed. In the end I walked out with our ordering cause after the phone in order which she was on the phone with for a good few minutes. I'm all of a sudden behind in the line with instead of just one person's order I am now waiting for one single order and a big call in order who h will now be made before mine despite me already being there wanting and waiting for food at that moment. People who have time to call in orders have time to be put on hold till it's there turn not just pushed a head of all the customers waiting in the shop. Unless you have a second staff to handle phone in orders. Ever since they expanded the quality and prices have gotten worse. Since the Australians have sold the business the atmosphere quality has gone down hill yet prices...
Read moreHad Port place Noodlebox and lately it has not been what it used to be. They have replaced my meal so that was nice but both the first and second meal was so dry and bland!! It use to be something to look forward to! I have had meals there lots and I know what to expect from the Cambodian Jungle box it “was” amazing with loads of sauce and flavour it was almost a soup at times , but Ordered it and was so so dry. I was told that it was the rice noodles and not to order that ?? I have had this several times in the past and have reheated it ,and I had more sauce after reheating it ! The noodles do not suck up all the sauce if it is made correctly, I should be able to order what I like and know it won’t be dried right out none edible dish! The meat was also over cooked that is not from sitting to long either, it was simply over cooked! I really suggest they change there cooks, because they are getting lots of bad reviews! Who ever is cooking in there now is not understanding how to make these dishes , unfortunate that it was such an awesome place to get good food , and now I am worried to order from there and it taste not good and then they tell me I let it sit to long or not get rice noodle!? Like I said had it a hundred times, that is just an excuse for...
Read moreOverall nice looking place with a great concept but for the cost it needs some serious improvement. Also, I feel I've been bamboozled by their spice scale. I actually love spicy food - I have lived in Mexico for a while and to this day will spike many things with habanero and other chiles. I realize not all chiles are the same and I know a lot of places don't actually make food that spicy (hence my choice) but not this noodle place. I went for medium hot... WOW. Hot, so hot. I'm tempted to say the scale is pretty underrated. I realized I should have gone for the milder level, it being my first time eating here but oh well. I explained to the staff and ordered some plain noodles, which I happily paid for, to add to my meal in an effort to tone it down a little. Hard to say if the staff is just generally not that pleasant to interact with or just tired of dealing with people like me who order ultra spicy noodles and regret it. Ended up with the wrong kind of extra noodles but was too hungry to care. My boyfriend's peanut sauce noodles were pretty watery and not that flavorful too. To end on a good note, my vegan friends absolutely...
