RE:Port701 Marinaside Dining | Lounge (Prestige lakeside resort.)
I had the unfortunate experience of attempting to eat breakfast at this restaurant today. Arrived at 11:15 am, have been staying in the Prestige hotel for 3 days adjacent. I was aware of the poor reputation of the restaurant held by locals but thought nobody can mess up a boiled egg...........πππππππ
Little did I know they don't serve breakfast after 11am. They beg hotel guests to come by, offering coupon discounts. When asked how hard it is to boil water, make a egg with toast I was met with excuses and resistance even using covid as an excuse and brutal attitude even the restaurant manager went as far as to head to the Prestige hotel front desk and continue to gossip about us the guests of the hotel.
These are the same type of restaurants that complain of short staff, loosing money and crying to governments to compensate them for their losses. I would suggest having all day breakfast item on your menu to accommodate guests and maybe help make some cash for your struggling poor restaurant.
Enjoy your Wild Alaskan Halibit Steak frozen paddy for $36 dollars, Beef Brisket Ravioli for $26 dollars forced at customers 11:20 AM
Or I might suggest go to Hume Hotel or Mike's place for real food and real service try the Bortch with homemade bread it's excellent as is the service and the staff are real pros..........
I will have a talk with my Prestige neighbor on Hobson rd about this poor operator choice for his hotel.
I would advise any guests or vistors unfamiliar with great restaurants throughout the town of Nelson to avoid this one even with their cheezy incentive coupon..
Included is a photo of their busy restaurant people asking for a egg a toast beware and head elsewhere.
Happy Diningπ

We stood in line for almost 30 mins (with people already waiting in front of us and more accumulating behind us), but not a single staff member came to any of us to acknowledge that we were there. Not even to say hello, or to let us know if they were maybe short-staffed and running behind, or to get our name for a table...nothing. The staff walked by the line of people constantly but chose not to acknowledge any of our presence. We asked the hotel reception staff if the restaurant was maybe operating with a limited seating capacity for COVID safety reasons and the front desk employee went into the restaurant to ask about the delay...but we were STILL not given any answers and were still all ignored by the staff. The group behind us left (very unhappy), and we ultimately chose to leave as well. We were extremely disappointed as we wanted to enjoy a lunch on their patio. Acknowledging your customers waiting in a line to eat at your restaurant should be a priority for staff. Customer service with friendly communication goes a long way. 2 people made a comment as they exited the restaurant that the service was really bad and slow so that sealed the deal for us. Too bad, as the location is great and we were really looking forward to...
