Great location, beautiful scenery and great service. The bed was comfortable and room was reasonably clean but I took one star off for the difficulty in choosing a room and some of the quality problems with the hotel. The paint, finishes, baseboards, etc. are worn and chipped and our room had some flaws - only one out of three TV's worked, cupboard doors falling off the hinges, blinds on the bedroom doors noisy because the anchors were broken, shower curtain too short for the bathtub, etc. It's a very strange thing that the staff can't actually identify which rooms are being shown online in the photos but apparently this is a mystery. We wanted to change rooms to one with a kitchenette and a desk for working during our trip and we saw one online that appeared to be available. We showed the photos to the front desk and they took us to see 3 different rooms but none matched what we saw in the photos on the website. We chose a room from what they showed us even though it had a jet tub instead of the walk in shower we saw online. It was weird to stand on the jets in order to take a shower but it was better than using the gross yellowing bath matt that was presumably meant for putting down on top of the jets. Hopefully, the photos I'm including in this review will help others if they want the features in this particular room. This is room 320. I should also note that the restaurant exceeded our expectations and we had great cocktails and food there during our stay.

I have been staying at this hotel for years and always book the suites. I'm a fan of jacuzzi tubs and love the theme decor! The customer service and treatment to loyalty is above par at this hotel. They are always wonderful with communication and very accommodating to requests! The rooms are gorgeous and the views are astounding! Nelson has been my staycation spot for the duration of covid. Dinner out, shopping, and a bubble bath at the end of the night in such a beautiful place makes me feel like I'm actually traveling somewhere :-) I will continue to make this my spot, as it's the top of its class in the West Kootenays! There aren't any rooms like this anywhere else around. They do a great job :-) currently under renovations so not as much availability, hoping they will be finished in time for summer!

I work a lot (70 hours a week) and had looked forward to this getaway. I was disappointed with the cleanliness for the price. Dust in the bathroom on the countertop corners, carpets in the hallways had dental toothpicks left on them all day. Dishes from room service were stacked up and left out all day long because they are, apparently, only picked up once a day. Very disappointing for the price and time I took away from work after rave reviews from others. Even the pool was not mopped up after. There was tissue paper and hair in the pools of water surrounding the swimming pool. After posting this review, the hotel asked me to contact them. I contacted the company with no response back from them whatsoever. Disappointing. No customer service recovery.

I do realize there is work being done on the restaurant and you may be having trouble at the moment. I went for breakfast (in the pub at that time) and the service was friendly but NOT fast. The waitress was good but it took 25 minutes for my breakfast to arrive and that is not acceptable, especially considering the prices that you charge for breakfast that are above my budget. I was almost late for my training due to the long wait. It wasn't that busy so I'm not sure what was taking so long.. maybe you need more kitchen staff. Speedy food arrival should be one of your top priorities in a hotel anyways since people are generally on a tight time schedule.

As a side note, the roasted potatoes were really good but there were enough for two people on my plate.. it would be nice to see another side (say fruit) or offer toast as well with less potatoes.

Went for a drink in the pub and was not happy with the initial service. I sat down at a table and joined a friend that had already received a beer. It was pretty busy, I'll give them that, but I was acknowledged by 3 or 4 employees in the bar that looked at me and then just looked away.. I assumed one of them would get me a server but that never happened. I had to go up to the bar and did not even get acknowledgment from the bar tender without having to ask for a drink. Finally, I brought my drink back to the table about 10 minutes after I got to the bar. I understand that they were busy, but I would expect that staff would understand that and make amendments to improve service.. but the staff I saw were only interested in their specific roles and not helping the servers .. I think there needs to be improvement in meeting the needs of customers in these busy times. I ended up not getting any more drinks after the one drink and my friend and I went elsewhere to spend our money.

I love the pool and hot tub, they're awesome and clean but the hot tub was not hot enough.. probably about 99 degrees. I like about 101 or 102 degrees. Pool was perfect temp though and I was the only one in it which was a bonus.. it was a Wednesday.

Had a great breakfast, during a previous stay, at the restaurant but the prices are a little steep... $20 not including a tip is a bit much. Some more economical options would be nice. Beautiful view though!

The other aspects of the hotel were great.

Thanks.....

Toilets wastes water a bit. Tub drains quietly, but very slowly.

My partner struggled to understand our admissions attendant as the accent was quite thick, however I did not and found the exchange envigoratung & inspiring. I'm familiar with accents though so thus could be challenging for some and not others.

I suppose she could have guided us better as we wandered and needed to ask a room attendant how to find our way upstairs, however he was much more pleasant and jovial than the front desk goddess.

Wd stayed one night and found the room was kept quite cold though we had control of the thermostat. Also more towels woukd be nice @almost $300/night for out suite, one towel feels well you know.. but we can appreciate the environmental aspect.

Parking is spread our into two sections and is unpaid so don't be fooled into parking in the marina lot, there is more further north east of the min entrance.

Since we chose an upper floor on the Marine side The View was amazing of the water in the Mountainside and the lovely properties across the lake however the sounds from the marina including the wind whipping through the wires and the flags and so on on all of the boats in the marina it's a significant sound so if you're sensitive to that kind of stuff even with the doors closed and the windows closed there's still somewhat of a disturbance though it was admittedly windy the evening and the morning that we were there the balconies give you an amazing view of the docking area smoking is not permitted nor is and not have that outdoor lights at night and the outdoor lights that come on or a bit of noise pollution as far as what you could observe or light pollution I should...

I've stayed at this location many times over the last few years. This is not the hotel it used to be. The attitude from check in staff is rehearsed and robotic. They once were very friendly and accommodating and fantastic at working together on anything that may pop up. Now it's a "1 size fits all" attitude. We are on a motorcycle trip. Both my friend and I have stayed here over 30 times. We both noticed the difference in staff and quality of stay. I booked over the phone directly with a staff member. Upon checking in, the card I used to reserve the room was not a card, that fit their criteria to pay for the room. This seemed very off. Then when I asked for a manager, the 3 people on the front desk claimed no manager is available. Every suggestion I made was met with robotic responses and no solutions that could fit. I was shocked at this approach for repeat and loyal clients. This room cost 330.00 for 1 night , so it's not a cheap room. I only stay at Prestige Hotels and would stand behind recommending them until now. As for their rooms, the bed mattresses are awful. Extremely soft. I asked my friend if her bed was awful too. She was not impressed either. The bathroom had mold around the tub. They give only 4 coffee pucks, 1 towel per person, the furniture has stains, the sheets smelled off and were worn, the loungers had worn pads... it could have been cleaner. It would be better if they had a manager on duty who was there during check in . We checked in at 5 pm. Or a manager was available to discuss why the credit card that is acceptable when booking the room is not OK when checking in. Totally bizarre. Not what you expect from this luxury...
