Sidewinders — Restaurant in Nelson

I don’t go to Sidewinders any more as of a few months ago, which is a shame because their coffee is delicious. However I noticed that each time I was ordering a large latte I was getting far less milk than a full cup, I’d remove the lid straight after it was served and my drink was a couple of inches below the top. I requested it be filled a couple times, and it still kept happening like they were trying to save money on milk. I then saw on their menu a breakfast sandwich, and that GF bread was like $2 extra. So I ordered the sandwich on GF bread and expected the price to be what was listed on the menu plus the $2 and tax. But it ended up being like $5-6 more than that and I wasn’t told at time of ordering but well after they had started making it. I politely asked the reason it was so much more expensive and I was told very curtly and with attitude that the GF bun was far larger and so they had to put more fillings on it. Instead of giving me the option of putting the same amount of filling on GF bread they just charged me double. Not good customer service repeatedly is really...

A tasty stop in downtown Nelson. I just had to stop at this location based on a strong recommendation from a trustworthy source and I was not dissapointed. The decor and ambiance reminded me of European bistro, in a neat building. The food and drinks were tasty and the choices were many. I found the service to be welcoming and friendly. The whole atmosphere in fact seemed relaxed. I was happy to see many people enjoying themselves in the atmosphere. The price was also very Regionale for the quality of the food and drinks. What people forget about sidewinders and I was guilty of it to, is that they have a rooftop patio you are allowed to go sit on if you don't want to eat inside. The view is great! They are quick, friendly and their food is delicious.
