Uptown Pizza & Sports Bar — Restaurant in Nelson

I am going to be as honest as I don't give 2 stars often. The server was new and very sweet. There were 6 of us and our food experience all differed. The meat pizza was very good. The chicken fingers were also fine. The chili cheese fries made my daughter happy and the burger was yummy according to my son. The beef dip was meh. Too much bread and they didn't even toast the thick bun. It tasted fine enough though, just missing the extra attention. The 2 stars is for the Bibimbap. I know I shouldn't be ordering Asian food from a pizza place but usually when a restaurant puts a single Asian dish on their menu, they try to do it well. First, none of the flavours went together, it was like they tossed in random ingredients from other dishes. The only mildly Asian thing was the sauce that seemed like it was sriacha and soy mixed together...which in any bibimbap...you wouldn't need. Second, they advertised it was crispy rice as it is traditionally in a Bibimbap...However, it was a pile of steamed and unseasoned plain jasmine rice. Lastly and most importantly, the mushrooms tasted off and I ended up with a terrible and rotten gut for 2 days after from eating 1 mushroom. I am hoping it was just a new chef and not what they actually serve on the daily because...gross....

Ridiculously tasty. Stopped in, grabbed a quiet booth by the window and filled up on appies, entree and pitchers of Happy Hour beer while watching cool cars and interesting pedestrians go by. Parking can be a test to find a spot during busy days/times but the persistence pays off. Everything we ordered was fantastic. 2 kinds of wings, garlic soy dry ribs, Ceasar salad, lobster mac and cheese, deep fried pickles, we had no room for dessert which probably wouldn't disappoint judging by the tasty feast we enjoyed. Great pub for catching games on the telly, for people/car watching by the windows. Great menu, lots of seating, with a secondary more intimate modern lounge between the tavern and the hotel. That area would be great for a semi-private gathering. Our guy was also amazing, thank you for your aqesome help...

Good food. Terrible service. First time here and sadly Don't want to come back. No one at the front so we waited a bit and then sat ourselves. No rush since no one saw us right away, no worries. The blonde waitress with glasses "served" us. She asked us what we wanted to drink and said "waters for now" emplying we would get more after the meal, but she Took our food order and then we never saw her again, so much for drinks i guess..
