Ouellet Fish and Family Restaurant — Restaurant in New Brunswick

This restaurant is easily found along one of Edmundston's main roads - Victoria Street. It is easily one of the oldest established restaurants in the city. Most of their menu is made up of fried items (e.g., seafood, fish, chicken, ...) They do offer other items but what sets it apart is their 'Fish 'n Chips'. The dining area is usually pretty clean but is found on the 2nd floor which may be a problem for anyone that has mobility issues. Parking is tight, as well. The service is always friendly and chatty. During this visit, I ordered takeout and within 15 minutes my order was up. It had been awhile since I've eaten here but I decided to order what they made their name with. I got a 2 piece Fish 'n Chips. It came out to about $25 with taxes and a tip. Expect to pay about $20 per person for a meal. There are more cost effective options but your hunger won't be satisfied. The food was good but the portions were small. My 2 piece Fish 'n Chips were gone in about 10 bites. I got 2 moderately sized pieces of fish with a handful of fries. The coleslaw that accompanied my meal was 2 bites. Though everything tasted great, it wasn't the amount of food that it used to be. Other than the seafood/fish items on the menu, there's nothing inviting me back for more. There are better options in the city for everything else you can find on their menu. I'll be back whenever I'm craving cantine-style fried fish/seafood, though. Hopefully, they can work on pricing and portion sized...

It was our last night in this region, and I was feeling a little off, but I wanted one last great lobster meal. I went down as requested, choose a lobster from their tank (it looked great) and was about to return to the dining area when I was called over to choose one of 3 precooked lobster ($97-108). I scratch her my head at the price, but choose the little one. It was then I knowtized it was cold. We are an Ontarian family from Muskoka Ontario. We ate here today for dinner just now and had the Chicken Poutine, 4 nugget and fries kids meal and I had the medium Cheeseburger and fries. I would have given 5 stars but they forgot my daughters fries. But I wasnt mad as the staff were EXCEPTIONALLY kind and I had enough fries to share with her. We ate take-out as we had the pets in the car. So I am not sure what the eating area is like upstairs.
