I took my lady and my daughter to this place to try out an eat in experience as we have had take out there and liked the food on Saturday Jan 25 around 6 p.m. First off I have been a waiter in my past for over 14 years of experience. Being welcomed at a place when you first walk in is always a plus. Being polite as a server and smiling is always good because when people are friendly with you it makes you want to come back. Our waitress sat us and she seemed ok...no smiles...no how are you tonight...ok no big deal. Skip to the food...everything came out seperately...my lady got her food so she starts first...then my daughter....then me...would have been nice to get everything together but I am laid back so it's ok. Once all of us are eating the waitress is behind the counter talking with the cook which is about 15 feet away from us. Did she come over once and see if the food is ok like a server is always taught to do...no....ok. My lady needs something...she says excuse me 3 times...ignored...my daughter says it louder two more times...she finally stops ignoring us and comes over...problem solved. My daughter runs out of drink 5 mins later...we go through the same process because she never checked on our drinks until about 20 mins later when she topped up my tea....We must have said thank you about 10 times between us to her since the moment we walked in the door and not once was there a "you're welcome". By the way we were the only table in the place the entire time we were there. Even when we left the restaurant no one said thank you for coming...please come again...this is the first time I have ever written a bad review about a resraurant in my life...and I usually let things go because of my experience being a server I know it is a difficult job at times especially when you get busy...but this service was unacceptable and as an owner I would want to know how my staff is. We will...

Taiga Ichiban was an unexpected delight! After discovering our usual sushi spot in Newmarket had permanently closed, we found ourselves searching for a new place that was open mid-to-late afternoon—a time when many sushi restaurants shut their doors. Lucky for us, Taiga Ichiban was open and ready to impress.
From the moment we stepped in, we were treated to an experience that exceeded expectations. The presentation of the food was nothing short of breathtaking—true artistry on every plate, with even the tiniest details thoughtfully executed. And the portions? Absolutely massive! We couldn’t believe the value for the price—it felt almost too good to be true.
Although we visited during a quieter time, the atmosphere remained warm and inviting. The lighting was perfect, and the space was impeccably clean. The lone server did seem a bit distracted, requiring us to make repeat requests for small items like a fork, but this minor hiccup was easily overshadowed by the incredible food and overall experience.
Taiga Ichiban delivered in every way that matters—quality, presentation, and unbeatable value. If you’re looking for a sushi spot that offers top-tier dishes without breaking the bank, this place is an absolute must-try. We can’t...
Read moreTerrible service. Came in to get an uber eats order I placed. First time going to this restaurant so I’m not familiar with the layout, so I stood at the front entrance checking if my order was ready, the app showed it was still being worked on. The host from behind the counter far away where the food is being made and the pay terminal is yells out to me “yes!?” with the most terrified and disgusted look on her face. I told her I’m here for an uber order. She couldn’t hear so I went to the desk and repeated it and told her the name the order is under. She walks me back to the front area and asks me what’s the uber order number. I showed her the phone with the order details. She just points to the food and says “there.”
She was very rude and not very welcoming. First and last time ordering food here. If your staff can’t handle the fact that diverse folks will enter their establishment to eat or pick up orders they’ve placed then they’re in the...
