Counterpie — Restaurant in Niagara Falls

No surprise here based on the quality of the brewery, but wow, Counterpie leaves nothing to be desired.

I am someone who will travel for good food, and previously, being in the Niagara region, I would have to drive to Toronto for good quality NY style pizza, which I gladly did. After trying Counterpie, that is not only no longer necessary, but would be a disservice to myself and my loved ones when there is a better quality pie right here at home.

Excellent char on the sourdough crust which has the strong sour, slightly bitter and savoury flavor characteristic of a sourdough. Crisp, and lightweight, topped with a lovely acidic and sweet fresh tomato sauce, the topping where are of high quality and in New York fashion, are used sparingly, although not stingy at all, they are expertly balanced so as to let every ingredient shine, none stealing the spotlight of another, instead singing in beautiful harmony.

What more need be said? If you like a traditional NY pie, then this is the spot you have been waiting for. If you want a pie loaded with so much toppings that the crust is merely a vessel for transporting meats and cheeses, I suggest seeking an alternative, but if you want the experience of every component of a pie being able to standout individually as part of an organized team, than look no further and quit hesitating! This pizza joint will be packed daily as it gains more notoriety, I can sense it already!

This place is our 10 out of 10 golden shiny stars. Arrived at about 4:50 PM on Monday. Immediate service with a smile. You see ourselves and were immediately offered help. Staff did a great job and let us know about the pizza special they had. The food was great. We ordered the pepperoni pizza at rocked. We still haven’t even finished it at this moment. I’m currently reviewing the restaurant as we finish our dinner. It’s amazing here. The playlist rocks it’s clean there’s two TVs. One’s playing a movie the other is playing sports so there’s something to watch if you’re not into sports or into the movie. The drinks are great as well. I got the cider. My boyfriend got the hard seltzer system. The girlfriend I tried his drink as well. Both are great. Please come here if you want to be happy about dinner. We have been wanting to try Counterpie for some time now. We finally got the chance this past week. Firstly, the pizza was amazing. The toppings were fresh, high-quality and a decent amount. The cheese was also great, not too overloaded, but just the right amount. The crust was dynamite. Perfectly flavoured dough, soft chewy, yet airy texture, and cooked to well done. The sauce was not too heavy, but was on the sweeter side. Hands down, one of the best pizzas we have had in Niagara Falls. The only drawback, this 16” pizza set us back over $45.
