Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) “Pur & Simple… emphasis on Simple.”
I’ll start by saying I was really looking forward to trying Pur & Simple after hearing all the buzz and seeing the glowing reviews. Unfortunately, my experience fell pretty flat—kind of like the flavors.
When we arrived, the place was packed. We were told it would be about a 15-minute wait, but we ended up waiting closer to 35. Not a huge deal—we people-watched and passed the time. But it did feel a bit disorganized at the front. There were quite a few staff members up there, but no one really seemed to know how to manage the flow of seating or reservations. We were finally sat at a large booth, even though we were just a party of two and there were smaller tables open. Kind of inefficient and odd, but we rolled with it.
Our server didn’t come by for about 8 minutes after we sat down. I ordered a bowl of hot chocolate (yes, they have bowls)—which was probably the biggest disappointment of the whole meal. It was lukewarm and tasted like someone mixed a powdered packet into warm tap water. I’ve had hot chocolate all over the world, and I genuinely think this ranks dead last. It wasn’t even worth the calories.
As for the food, it looked fresh and healthy, but it completely lacked flavor. Eggs tasted like they’d been cracked, cooked, and plated with no seasoning or care. The meat had a strange taste that made me question whether it was truly nitrate-free as claimed—it just felt... off.
But the most concerning part? I have a strawberry allergy, and I specifically told our server that I couldn’t have strawberries in or on my crepes. While the crepes themselves were strawberry-free, the side of fruit that came with them had—you guessed it—strawberries. I was really disappointed. I ended up eating around the fruit and passing the contaminated part to my husband. I didn’t want to risk a reaction, but I also didn’t want to go hungry. When you flag an allergy, it should be taken seriously.
On a positive note, the staff were friendly, the environment was bright and clean, the floors and bathrooms were spotless, and even the decorative plants looked freshly dusted. You can tell they care about presentation and cleanliness. But the food just didn’t match the atmosphere.
If you're someone who enjoys bold flavors, cultural depth in cuisine, or anything beyond basic seasoning, this may not be your spot. Like the name suggests, it’s pure and simple—just don’t expect anything...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW: my mom and I wanted to have something yummy for breakfast so we decided to go to pur and simple again. We were served by Miranda who was attentive, kind, and hardworking. The supervisor on the floor named Lavi took the time to come to our table and personally address my previous review. He apologized for our previous experience and let us know that our feedback is taken seriously as it helps them grow as a business. When we were done eating he came over again and asked us how everything was and chatted with us for a bit. Lavi is a very kind and genuine supervisor who truly cares about the experience of his guests. As someone who works in the food industry, I can confidently say that this mornings visit made my day. I appreciated both Lavi and Miranda’s kind hospitality and efforts to ensure we enjoyed our meal and stay.
I came here yesterday with my mom and sister for lunch. We were served by Gina who had a wonderful personality but unfortunately did not provide the best service. We waited a while to actually order our food which I got past because it was pretty busy. When my mom and sister were finished eating she began clearing plates even though I was about halfway done my meal. She then brought us the bill and a review card asking us to give her a review. I was going to order a coffee after my meal but I felt way too rushed as the bill was brought to us when I was...
Read moreTried Pur&Simple for the first time and absolutely loved it! Really good standard for breakfast compared to other breakfast joints. The place is very clean, everything is made fresh, and the staffs are very attentive and kind. We had Chloe serving us and she was amazing! Greeted us with a smile, came to check up on us just enough and not too many times (which is a skill). Having someone personable like her makes a huge difference in deciding what food we want to get, she made it less intimidating. I asked for coffee a bit late into my mimosa and she brought it out so quick which I truly appreciated. She was very attentive for a busy morning so kudos to her! I had the Kimchi eggs Benedict which was out of this world! All kimchi lovers will rejoice. That perfect tangy cabbage texture pulls everything together. My mimosa was delicious too! What a perfect brunch! My husband had the Chicago and it looked fabulous and he devoured it too! **huge plus is they have pictures of their food in their menu which is 10/10 strategy. Helps to know what you're getting and the visual experience is so important. 10/10 Pur&Simple! Definitely will...
