Went here as it looked cool on line. Attended for breakfast. It was a little gritty. Strong odor of burning grease. Air makeup and vent system were turned off or not working right. Often small businesses that are struggling will keep their vents off so as to not to take the heat out of the building. They don't seem to get that the carcinogens are not being expelled and thus can poison your staff and customers. You will note the strong smell of scorched grease and burned toast following you around all day after 5 minutes of being in this establishment.
The place would be a lot nicer if it was painted and cleaned up. Most painted services were pealing and flaking or faded and sad looking.
To be fair the food was well cooked however quantity was served in child like portions.
Decent tasting Coffee that was mixed by service girl, no refills, and served in a take out cup. Paid at counter before getting food. Felt like a lunch line at a street kiosk or food truck. I suppose it saves on dishes labour serving in take out cups.
Wait staff spent most of her time in the back. Took our money, ($26.00), 10 mi utes later served the food and we left without seeing her again. We were the only customers, so not sure why she chose not to check in on our experience. Total time in business was around 40 minutes.
I would recommend skipping this place in favor of the breakfast place across the road. Although it is as well, very faded and dated looking, there appeared to be a lot more customers in attendance. Perhaps that is the truest reflection of the Sono's Cafe experience in and of itself. Will not...

Place smells a bit funky walking into it. To me its the smell of the place not being cleaned properly period.
Ordering process was painful, especially as I was the only customer in the place and who can't put bacon inside an omelette. They flat out refused like I was putting them out.
Food came and nothing but the toast tasted right. Definitely was not feta that I asked for in my omelette. Realistically feta is not really supposed to melt like cheddar or mozzarella. Something was off with the bottle of Franks Redhot too. Not sure that it was changed out post-lockdown.....the first one I mean.
Last thing, who has a drive thru diner? They open a side door and huck some food out at the cars pulling up like a McDonald's. Weirdest thing and didn't fit what should be a traditional sit down diner.
I don't know who is giving these rave reviews but I know this place can't recover from the disaster that was my experience. I doubt most of their problems were due to COVID and they existed long before...
