Today, my wife, my son, and I took a trip down to Duncan, BC, to browse Winners, but what truly won our day was stumbling upon a food truck that instantly earned a place in our hearts — Mad Eats.

Let me be clear: this isn’t just another food truck. This is a full-blown flavour assault vehicle on wheels.

I ordered the double smash burger with chili fries, and our son followed suit with the same burger. My wife opted for a hot dog with poutine — and every one of us was absolutely blown away.

The double smash burger? Perfectly seared beef patties dripping with melty cheese, thick-cut bacon cooked to perfection, and a soft bun that held up like a champ. It’s everything a smash burger should be — crispy edges, juicy center, and packed with real-deal flavour.

And the chili fries? Forget what you know about chili fries. These were a full-on loaded experience — rich, hearty chili, shredded cheese melting into every crevice, topped with a generous helping of green onions and a cool dollop of sour cream that balanced every bite. It was a meal on its own and then some.

Not to be outdone, my wife gave her hot dog and poutine combo two thumbs way up. The portions were generous, the quality top-notch, and the flavours were bold and comforting.

What also impressed me was the professionalism. This wasn’t some scribble-on-a-pad food truck — the setup was fully computerized and streamlined. Clean, efficient, and modern. Ordering was a breeze, and service was prompt and friendly.

Let me start out by saying that I am a hamburger purist and smashburgers are my favorite type. Max here makes the best Smashburger I have had in Canada, that includes being better than mine. Max was super nice, very social and gives you value while he talks with you. Everything about this burger ticks all the boxes, toasted fresh bun, quality beef that is kissed with a great maillard reaction, seasoned properly, fresh toppings and even built in the proper order. I was making animal noises while enjoying this masterpiece. He makes batter fried fries that compliment the burger perfectly. I have to give a bonus star for having Mexican cane sugar Coca-Cola in the glass bottle too. I live about 45 minutes away from this place and I can see myself making the trip next time, I'm craving a quality Smashburger. Seriously, I was just at Hamburger America in NYC and George Motz wasn't able to deliver a burger to this standard of excellence. Props to ya Max, you got a skookum joint going there and I'll be more than happy to point peeps in...

This is the second time I got sick from the food at MAD Eats usually people deserve second chances so today I thought I'd give it a try again but nope it's not worth the stomach ache the puking and the Diarrhea will be spending most of my time in the bathroom now my fault for being hungry and thinking the food would be good this time but i should've just kept driving.but anyway hopefully you will find out what's going on because mad eats use to be good at first but now it's just horrible i will not attend mad eats that's okay tho.you still have people going there maybe I just have a weak stomach but...
