Let me preface this review by stating I am not a fan of Indian cuisine overall. The vegetable samosas were large, packed with filling and decently flavoured. They were fried very well, cooked through yet not being oil saturated. The Chicken Tikka Masala was packed with flavour, with a nice thick sauce, large chunks of white meat chicken, and a lot of vegetables. This was very impressive on its own, and I was pleasantly surprised that the level of flavour was not tuned down to accommodate the patronage. However, the star of the show was easily the Malai Kofta. Unlike Chicken Tikka Masala, I have genuinely found no interest in Malai Kofta in the past, consuming it disappointingly from time to time. This was a whole other level. Even my partner, who has eaten it for her entire life, agreed that this was hands-down the best Malai Kofta she had ever eaten. The mix of the soft crumbly texture and the rich creamy sauce with a hint of nuttiness is to die for. And all these flavours are enhanced by the garlic naan whose higher than normal level of garlic is appreciated and basil adds another layer cutting through the fat and richness of the dishes aforementioned. Wait staff were attentive and courteous, although the interior is a tad bit cramped. Highly...
Read moreThis is one of those small restaurants which you do not want to advertise to everybody because it may get too busy;). I have been there about 8 times.
You have to make some sort reservation after 5pm as it get very busy. It is usually packed after 5-6pm. You see that there is a large volume of food take out/pick up every day.
The food is great. I have had Lam vindaloo, biryani, Palak. The Lam is usually cooked to perfection; though on two occasions the lamb was not cooked well. The butter chicken is also nice. I have gone there with a family of 8 and we have tried almost everything on the menu. I recommend getting the garlic Naan every time. If you are vegetarian, you should try the Veggie Korma. My wife ordered it and I kept picking at it; it was fantastic.
I really like my food spicy. But since this is a fusion food, the food is catered to your comfort level of spicy-ness. I would also order the Mango lassi.
I deduct on star for the two occasions that the lamb was not cooked well. Other than that, I recommend it to everyone. Probably the best Indian food I...
Read moreA foodies Dream…The Best Indian Food I’ve Ever Had! Being half Indian, I’ve tasted my fair share of incredible flavors, but this place is on another level. The korma’s cashew creamy sauce is to die for; rich, velvety, and utterly indulgent. And that cashew crunch in the sauce? Life-changing! It was my first dish here, the dish that got me completely hooked years ago.
Since then, I’ve explored more, and wow just when I thought it couldn’t get better, I tried the creamy spinach palak dish with paneer today and let me tell you, I have never had a more perfectly balanced, flavourful version of this classic. Every bite is a revelation. If you're looking for Indian food that is truly unforgettable, this is the place for top notch Indian food and you don’t even have to drive to Surrey or downtown for it if your a North Van person !! Which saves the long drive. Highlyyyyy recommend.
Also to add everyone there is really kind, today I got regular naan instead of garlic so they added it to my account for a free one next time. You don’t see...
