I had the pleasure of dining at Pawan tonight, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I entered, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for a delightful meal. The menu offered a wide variety of traditional Indian dishes, each bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. I particularly enjoyed Channa Masala and veggie rice which was perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. The flavors were rich and vibrant, leaving a lasting impression. Moreover, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience was top-notch. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to accommodate dietary preferences was commendable. Overall, my visit to exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a taste of authentic Indian cuisine served with warmth and hospitality.

Went to Pawans for the first time today and it’s the best Indian food I’ve had in a long while. I ordered off the vegan menu: daal, bindi, rice, naan, pakoras, and shared it. We really wanted to dine-in but they explained that during COVID they can’t pay non-family to support dine in so everything is take out. But the son of the owner was so nice offering to give us plates and cutlery when we said not a problem we’ll eat outside at a park. Also for takeout you get an extra 10% off, bonus! Nice family run business, excellent food, and lots of vegan options. So rare to find an Indian restaurant willing to make their naan vegan (without the yogurt and/or ghee that’s usually used). And it was delicious!! Thank you to the family for doing such a great job and for being very friendly and kind. Highly recommend!

I like this place a lot. I usually get take out but have dined in as well. The service has always been excellent. I find it good value, with each entree they include a free rice or naan and they are full size orders, not a miniature version because it's free. I almost always get the same thing just cause I Love it! I get Dhal Tadka, Bhindi and 1 each of the rice and naan. I always get it mild and am never disappointed. The Bhindi is full of okra, unlike some others I've had where it's mainly onions and tomatoes. Don't believe the 1* reviews as they are undoubtedly from their competitor up the street, jealous that Pawan's has been voted best in North Van.

If you’re tuned in with good Indian food, you’ll be disappointed. The “tandoori” chicken didn’t look nor taste like it was cooked in a tandoor oven. The veggies served with the “tandoori” chicken were surprisingly tasty. The butter naan smelled plasticy for some odd reason and must’ve been coated with vegetable oil as there was no butter flavor. The Dal Makhani was good. Not the best I’ve ever had but not the worst either. Same with the chicken tikka masala. Butter paneer was extremely vinegary. Rice was rice. Mango lassi was good but didn’t have a natural mango taste to it. Must be a pre-mixed blend they buy. Ambiance was nothing special. When the owner asked if everything was ok I nodded in agreement because that’s all it was - just OK. Perhaps I’m spoiled with all the high quality Indian food I’ve had in Regina? Idk. I have yet to find places that surpass the quality & authenticity the Indian food in that city has to to offer. Kelowna, Toronto, Minneapolis, Florida and now Vancouver all seem to have sub par Indian food compared to Regina despite trying the most highly rated places in each city. I can’t explain why. At any rate, I won’t be coming back to this place but I...

RUDE STAFF, TASTELESS FOOD. UNBELIEVABLY RUDE STAFF. When we sat there for dining, the waiter seemed more interested in getting a date with my brother, and that in a super rude way that I feel horrible of even talk about. As we saw this, we got the food to go, and left.

TASTELESS FOOD. We go to Indian restaurants mainly because of its great taste. Unfortunately this place was the pit of all Indian restaurants we have been to, when it comes to the taste of the food as well.

NO WONDER. They are always empty while their next-door Indian restaurant always has 10-25 people lined up behind their door. Unfortunately that restaurant only has takeout.

BEWARE OF FAKE POSITIVE REVIEWS Since a decade businesses can and do buy positive reviews by thousands from Web Support companies that sell SEO (Search Engine Optimization). As long they pay, they get as many 4-5 Star reviews that they want! Also beware of this issue anywhere on the Net, even while shopping on Amazon.

YOU CAN TELL by the way they answer the feedback if they actually want to change the staff's behaviour by observing them, and the food by tasting it, or they're just trying to dodge it all, with...

Update: We have been back several times and are always quite happy :) More below...

Our first visit was takeout and we were very impressed.

I walked in and ordered right there. The restaurant looked much nicer on the inside than outside and the staff was very friendly and provided information openly. I ordered a good beer on tap while waiting (I was walking, calm down) and had a nice chat with one of the guys there.

The food was mild spiced vegetarian this time, and it was delicious. The portions were generous and the flavours flowed beautifully. The textures of the cooked veggies and naan worked excellently. We are looking forward heading back soon - whether eat in our take out next time, we should be quite happy that day and the next!

Here's the update: in the last year or more we have been back several times, both eat in and take out. The staff has always been nice and friendly and the food had always been delicious. We have spiced it up a bit and tried meat dishes and appies and even a dessert, and have never been disappointed. We will definitely be going back for more - and maybe one day I'll take a picture... I just want to eat as soon as I...
