This rating is purely off what I thought of the TASTE of the food, because the service and portioning were incredible. To put it short, not the best shawarma I’ve had but also not the worst.

I ordered a chicken shawarma saj wrap despite originally intending to order beef but they didn’t have any on the spit (just prepackaged and reheated). After watching Chef’s Door content on social media for a while, I was hoping they would make their bread fresh like they do in their videos but the saj was already premade which was a little disappointing but not the end of the world. The man who took and made my order was so sweet and personable, he loaded up on the portion of chicken and the final wrap was the same length but thicker than my forearm!

However, upon the first few bites, I felt the wrap was heavily lacking in flavor despite how much volume and sauce there was. Nothing was wrong with the texture or anything— the chicken was actually super juicy and the veggies were fresh and crisp, it was just so bland which was a huge disappointment. What carried through the ‘most’ was the garlic spread/toum but it wasn’t anywhere close enough to save it. I also asked for the other garlic herb sauce in a squeeze bottle when it was being made, and despite having an adequate amount on there, I couldn’t really taste that either.

I can get by minor textural things or even less generous portioning if the flavor makes up for it but if there’s no flavor to begin with then it’s an automatic 3 star from me unfortunately. :(

Flavor is something that can be adjusted, so hopefully this feedback encourages adding more seasoning and salt to their chicken shawarma. Kudos to the establishment being very clean and once again the service being very welcoming and...

Chef's Door is a shawarma franchise with several locations, but I tried the one at 3rd line and Dundas. There was ample parking, I was greeted with a warm welcome upon arrival, the food was very fresh and it was prepared very quickly, which was appreciated because I was in a rush. I ordered the chicken shawarma on fries, which is my go-to meal at shawarma joints. The fries were crinkle-cut, which was a pleasant surprise compared to competitors who typically offer straight-cut fries. The fries were golden brown and deep fried to perfection, but were akin to generic McCain's frozen fries. The chicken shawarma meat was juicy, sliced well and had a bit more black pepper than I'm used to for shawarma meat. It still was very delicious! I love garlic and hot sauce, so I ordered both on top of the delicious shawarma meat. Although the food was substantial and tasty, the garlic sauce was a bit too watery for my liking and tasted more like sour cream than an authentic garlic sauce that has garlic as the primary ingredient. The hot sauce had a nice heat level but there was more burn than flavour. For some people, this might be the best shawarma on fries that they've ever had. However, I've tried several different variations to this dish and I personally prefer a garlic sauce with more kick and a hot sauce with more flavour. Again, this is my personal preference for a stronger garlic taste and a more full-bodied hot sauce to excite my tastebuds. All that being said, Chef's Door at this location was great and the food in my books is a solid 4-stars. The falafel on the counter looked incredibly appetizing and I will likely go back to try...

Recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant renowned for its delectable shawarma, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. With its impeccable service and an unforgettable dinner mix plate, this establishment left me in awe of its culinary prowess.

From the moment I entered, I was greeted by a friendly and attentive staff that made me feel instantly welcome. The service was exceptional, with the waitstaff demonstrating a genuine passion for ensuring a delightful dining experience. They patiently answered all my questions, provided recommendations, and accommodated any special requests I had. Their attention to detail and warm demeanor elevated the overall ambiance of the restaurant.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the dinner mix plate. Words cannot do justice to the explosion of flavors that awaited me. The mix plate was a cornucopia of culinary delights, featuring tender, juicy shawarma, complemented by an array of mouthwatering accompaniments. From the fragrant basmati rice to the vibrant, freshly made salads and the irresistible hummus, each element was prepared with precision and care. The shawarma itself was a revelation—perfectly seasoned, succulent, and grilled to perfection. Every bite was a symphony of tastes,...

I live in Milton. I came to the third line location area for some work and was happy to see Chefs door here. I have heard great things about the egyptian magician/chefs door. So for lunch we decided to have chicken shawarma on rice with side of salad and potatoes. We called for take out order and it was ready in 5 mins. The rice and chicken were dry and tasteless; it seemed as it was leftover from yesterday. I had requested to make it spicy but it was very bland. Maybe my expectations were too high. The potatoes/carrots and salad were fine. Maybe there other items are better, but this was not what i expected. Very disappointed 😔 1 star for the man behind the counter was friendly. 1 star for quick service.
