Forno Pizzeria — Restaurant in Oakville

I have wanting to try out this place after noticing it while taking shortcuts to work. Being a pizza-holic with my own wood burning oven and portable pizza oven, I believe I know good pizza along with bad ones....especially ingredients. I stopped by on my way home asking if they serve slices, which they don't but the owner said he can make me one in 10 minutes......I agreed and ordered a small peperoni and mushroom...while waiting I asked his history , if the sauce and dough were home made(they are)- I noticed the cheese that he uses is top quality. Also asked about his training and experience...which he has plenty of. I can tell this man has a passion for pizza and quality ingredients. Now for the pizza.....the bottom was thin but the slice did not bend.. with a slight chew(I like a bit of crunch)..but great taste--a touch of salt/cornmeal on the bottom...peperoni was not over salty--it was perfect....the mushrooms had me thinking(I'm a mushroom guy) ....they were thick and had substance.....wondering if they were canned...I will ask.... but noticed the menu mentioned roasted mushrooms...the more I look at the WEB picks the more I'm wondering....could be fresh roasted...it was dark in the car as I was eating while driving home...but overall.....I hope they are opened this afternoon as I want to do it again on my way home. 2 days straight.....You can never have too much great quality pizza....Great Passion produces Great Results !!!!!! Tried this dump last week and it was an absolute disaster. The pizza was straight-up inedible—flimsy, undercooked trash that collapsed the second I touched it. I’m talking the kind of soggy mess where all the toppings slide off like someone sneezed them onto raw dough and shoved it in a box. I called to complain and the guy says, “We’ll replace it next time.” Cool. Fast forward to today—they tell me “10 minutes,” and I end up standing around like an idiot for 25. What do I get handed? The same exact flimsy, half-baked joke of a pizza, only now it’s even worse. No sauce. DRY. Bland. Barely edible. And don’t let the photo fool you—the only sauce on that slice is hot honey I added, because they clearly can’t be bothered to do their job. The pizza was tasteless and not good. The dough was rolled so thin that they overcooked all the pizzas and they were breaking like a dry cracker. Pepperoni was cheap and super greasy. Sauce was barely there and I'm not sure I even tasted any cheese. They also screwed up the order and didn't include the extra toppings I paid for. They offered to remake one of the pizzas that was missing toppings - which was the right thing to do - but too little, too late, as that would mean the rest of my pizzas would go cold and we've be waiting even longer. It's overpriced for what you get. I love pizza and have no problem paying top dollar, but I expect quality and this was not worth it! I do not...
